The lanky Estonian centre back Piiroja has played in the Norwegian Premier League since the start of 2003 (first for Valeranga and then for Fredrikstad). Last season was the best of his career as he scored two goals in the victorious Norwegian Cup final and was selected fans player of the year as well as into the league's all-star lineup. But now it seems that he will realize his long-time dream of playing in England as several Championship clubs have shown interest in him during the last couple of weeks and Fredrikstad has announced that they will not try to interfere with the move if they get a decent money for him. Watford, the new home club of Mart Poom, has been named as the most likely destination.
Piiroja has been one of the key players for the national team during this millenium and undoubtedly one of the most talented Estonian footballers but he has had lots of bad luck with injuries which has stopped his progress into big leagues. Maybe he now finally makes it into the top in England.
Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim
