FC Honka Espoo (Fin) - FC TVMK Tallinn (Est) 0:0
FK Vetra (Lit) - Llanelli A.F.C. (Wal) 3:1

No bad impressions yet, but chances to reach the UEFA Cup are near zero after all.

Levadia will face Macedonian champion FK Pobeda in the first round of the CL preliminaries. If they should somehow beat them, they will face Red Star in the second one.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

So "our boys" "figured out" that it is easier not to play football and go straight to bookies and place some pets against themselves.
I hope the federation sorts it out quickly and kicks out bad apples.

Yeah I think so. Look at what happened to Feyenoord last year.

Oh dear, I just saw i wrote pets instead of bets. No cats involved, I can assure you

They haven't given any official information nor I don't know if there is any investigation but basically there were few very big sums against TVMK and these bets were linked with some TVMK players (meaning they lost deliberately) Few agencies stoped bets when big bets began to come in but few didn't.
so basically, unproven and unsolved case.

It seems quite likely that TVMK-Honka match was fixed...the the total betting amount on this game through English site Betfair was about 1.5 million euros while usually it's around five figure sums...so around 50-100 times more and no logical explanation for this (except the fixing one I guess)...and the influx of huge bets continued even after Betfair continuously dropped Honka's odds.

TMVK's Latvian centre back Jevgenijs Kacanovs has been mentioned as the main suspect as his mistakes caused Honka's three first goals.

Levadia managed to win away from home which is a great result, while two other Baltic clubs couldn't. Sad that Levadia didn't really find their rythym in Baltic Cup and fell out at final minutes, they seem to be in great form again from June and this win proves it. It was 43 degrees celsius in Macedonia, so tough for guys used to 20 degrees in summer.

But Ventspils got two away goals which gives them good chance.

FC Pobeda 0:1 Levadia
FK Zeta Golubovci 3:1 FBK Kaunas
Total Network Solutions 3:2 Ventspils

Levadia has now got great chance of progressing. Seeing how they have done in last four years in Europe, their game seems to be fitting for European club competitions. Would be fun to see Red Star in Tallinn if they would get through.

Tomorrow is time for UEFA Cup.

Boohoo

Yes, Levadia has a winner's attitude in European games, something that Estonian teams usually doesn't have

Yeah it was a scorcher aand the ref even had to stop the game after 30 minutes to give the players time to cool off. Bad decision by Pobeda to play the game at their stadium at 17:00 instead of playing at the NT stasium where they could have played under the lights at like 20:00. As far as the game goes it was a very dull game not many chances, in the first half both teams had 1 scoring chance each (bad luck for Pobeda in the 16th minute their best player Gesoski went out with an injury) while in the 2nd half Pobeda started attacking but then gave up a bad foul which lead to the Levadia goal from the free kick. The goal was weird because the free kick was taken from the side distance and everyone was expecting a cross in the box but the goalie misread the play and it bounced in the back of the net. Then after that Pobeda kept coming trying to tie it up, had some good header chances and one very good shot that was deflected but the Levadia goalie read it well and made the save. Overall it was an even game until the goal was scored then Levadia played bunker defense, while after Pobeda got a red card they were still pushing to try to tie the game and thats where Levadia had a couple great scoring chances from the counter but did not capitalize. All in all i fully expect Levadia to go through.

If you want to see the goal and some highlights of the game, click on the video link at the top right corner of the page (looks like the play button on WMP).

Thanks for the update.
Sadly Flora and Trans weren't able to get close to Levadia's result in the UEFA cup today. But sure they had a tough draw.

Henrik Larsson & co trashed Trans pretty bad in Sweden...too bad about Flora, they could have snatched a draw with better finishing

Levadia and Ventspils should both make it into the second round today
