None of Baltic teams got good result at home in Intertoto.
No chance for Trans now, small revenge possibility for Vetra. Dinaburg should make it to the next round.

Yeah, but likely 3 rounds are still too much for us.

All participating Lithuanian teams look weaker than last year, except Kaunas. Ekranas are very inconsistent, Suduva lacks decent striker after Radzinevicius left and Vetra is a blowing bubble.

Are Vetra's players always crazy????

We beat them 4-0 tonight and they had three players sent off!

Two of them had yellow cards and they committed stupid fouls that had to give them second yellow cards and they had to be sent off. First red card, after three minutes, was a professional foul.

They had 35 supporters come to Dublin by bus from Vilnius!!!!

Shelbourne 4-0 Vėtra (aggregate 5-0)
Goals: Ryan 35, Byrne 65, 90, Crowe 68
Red cards: Raliukonis 3, Karcemarskas 45, Vezevicius 67

Maybe it was despair, seeing game slipping out of their hands? Vėtra went to Ireland without 7 players, mass disease or smth.

HB Torshavn 0-1 Dinaburg (agg. 1-2)
Mortensen 48 og

UEFA investigates Egaleo

Wednesday, 21 June 2006

UEFA has instigated disciplinary proceedings against Greek club Egaleo FC for violation of the principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship - bringing the sport of football and UEFA into disrepute.

Intertoto Cup match
The proceedings relate to the UEFA Intertoto Cup third-round match between Egaleo and Lithuanian opposition FK Žalgiris Vilnius on 16 July 2005, which Žalgiris won 3-1. According to the charge filed by the UEFA disciplinary inspector, the Greek club, in fielding a team that was far from being the club's top side, was not only in breach of fundamental UEFA rules, but also ran the risk of creating favourable conditions for illegal betting practices.

From uefa.com

------------------------------------------------------

As far as I remember, greeks fielded squad which average age was around 18 years. And lots of bets were placed on Žalgiris victory.

TVMK has to win! IT'd be shame otherwise. Levadia's game will be hot! One of the best ever squads of Estonian club. Espescially now when they bringed back Kink from Russia.

i'm quite sure TVMK will lose. they are playing weak in the Meistriliiga and have already some experience in losing against Icelandic teams
Levadia got a strong opponent but they can beat 'em as they do have a very decent squad. i'd be a little disappointed if Levadia wouldn't go to the 2nd round really.
Flora has always sucked in European Cups and this time will be now exception

Metalurgs, Skonto and Ventspils should make it to the next round. For the rest ties I'm not so sure. Haka are one of best teams in Finland and were champions in 2004, Lyn finished 2 points off the first place in Norway. Tough

TVMK down 0-1 after first half against that Iceland club. Looks like an early exit for Estonian champions in CL again.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

TVMK loses it 2-3 with last-minute goal from a stupid defensive mistake. Nice one :rollani:

That's cruel...

Elbasani 1-0 Ekranas
Xhafa 75

Not good either, but hopefully we'll beat them at home.

Very disappointing performance by TVMK. They really seem to be in a bad shape and give a weak impression of Estonian football.
All hopes on Levadia which will face a tougher opponent though.

TVMK sold off most of their best players and the replacements haven't been on the same quality as evident from their league form this season. I quess they just can't compete with Flora and Levadia in the long run, they're not rich enough and are one of the few clubs in the league who don't even have a fan club.

Got that. But that was a team from Iceland. I mean, Iceland is not very famous for raising the standards in world soccer... :rollani:
Okay, they had some decent players along the last four or five DECADES and one or two big shots, but those left the island as soon as possible.

Their league is probably richer and better than ours. The commentators mentioned during the match that the average attendance in thier premier league is 15,000 people In our premier league it's about 250-300. Yesterday there was 700 people at the stadium and it was a CL match ...although it's kind of understandable because most people are in the beach or countryside and TVMK has never had many fans anyway. They don't really have a strong identity, they're more like some random team from Tallinn..and league football isn't popular here anyway, the few fans caring about club football in Tallinn support either Flora (Estonians) or Levadia (Russians).
