I'd like to see at least one of the following nations to end up in the same group with us: France, England, Holland, Italy. Considering that Italy, Germany and Spain are in pot 2, we might even get two really big teams. We don't have any realistic chances for qualifying anyway, so I'd rather see our group to be very strong than boring and mediocre. We need big games to enlarge the interest in football in this country.

I really hope we don't get Portugal again, it would be boring to play them 3rd time in a row. But I wouldn't mind getting Latvia and Russia again, these derbies are something special

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? AndÖ.itís the football, thatís the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

I would like to see France obvioulsy, at least i could watch them easily live, and we have not play them since 1924. Or England from the Pot 1. And either Germany, Italy or Spain from the pot 2.

But i have got better chances to win at the european lottery.

Latvia can perform better with "slow" playing teams: Greece, Czech Republic, Sweden, Germany etc.

we don't have any chance with: Netherlands, Portugal, etc

Group E

England
Croatia
Russia
Israel
Estonia
Macedonia
Andorra

Decent group, thanks to the fact that we got England in it. Russia will be a fine battle again. Croatia is a bit boring opponent from second pot IMO, especially as we played them in last Euro qualifications.

All in all it's not an easy group at all. We will most likely be battling for a fourth place against Israel and Macedonia.

Also, congrats to Lithuania, who got France and Italy in their group

So i guess all Estonians are happy to get England. Tickets will be sold pretty fast i think.

Tough group but the most interesting from Lithuania against three top teams, France, Italy and Ukraine but this is great chance to improve. Even Scotland is not a bad side. I would have switch Lithuania with latvia and it would have been fine for me. But things are what they are.

And nonetheless a interesting draw against nordic cousins and Spain for Latvia.

think Latvia's group pretty good. Both Spain and Sweden are beatable. Denmark also is not the same as Portugal or any other top team. So chances there are, can we use them? Pahars is on the pitch now again, played 2 full games for Southampton, so if he can help us, could improve our attack.

Our coach stated before the draw he wants lucrative opponents, should be happy

Third succesive Euro qualifiers we get Faroes in our group.
Held Italy to a goalless draw at home in WC2002 qualifying campaign. Lost both games to Georgia in the same campaign.
Back in 1995 we managed to beat Ukraine 2-0 in Kiev and finished third in group, one place above them. Though now they clearly look a better team.
Shared victories with Scotland in last Euro qualifiers.

If we will learn to attack and score goals we could fight for 3-4 places at very best.

Spain are still a great nation of Football eventhough theirs Nt is always a disappointement and Sweden are my darkhorses alongs with Ivory Coast for the WC. Dunno much about Denmark, but the game against Iceland in Reykjavik will be tough. but i think Latvia can grab some points especially at home. i am happy with Pahars return, hope he will stay fit.

BTW i just found out that pic on the net :

well, we have played draw with spain and denmark, thou it was in the beginning of 90-ies we've won sweden. There are no such big favourites, like Portugal was in our group for Wc2006 qualifies, however if Sweden has Ljundberg and Larssons, it could be tough. I remember the game in Riga for Euro2004 qualifies, when Verpakovskis and Pahars played together in attack. Swedes were lucky to get draw in that game.

Hi all,

This is mainly a message for the Estonians, I'll be at both games, in England and Estonia and hope to see lots of you there. Should be fun. Will be a party atmosphere for both games :-)
