Latvia - Germany [EURO2004]

Game 2 : Saturday 19th June

Latvia - Germany

Latvia :

After a good start, where we have seen, Latvia not so far from getting a good result. Latvia will have to confirm this good perform.Which is often harder.
Maybe two changes in the team, Pahars and Laizans could starting the game this time.

Our opponent

The team could like :
Kahn -Friedrich Woerns Nowottny Lahm-Hamann Schneider Ballack Frings- Kuranyi Bobic .

Finally Germany looks better than we could have thought, they should play in a 4-4-2.

Come on Latvia !

Hope guys could show result that will satisfy fans - it shouldn't be directly win. We are realists here, but we want them to fight. Starting stress must be over for now

Germany plays smart and disciplined football, so it's not easy for Latvia to surprise them. But we can always hope...

GO LATVIA!!!

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? Half-time 0 - 0

0 - 0 yes, but an improvement from the latvian, they play smart and much higher on the pitch than the first game.
Verpakovskis missed a great chance but after a unbelievable run.

I hope to God you (deservedly) win this game like you should have beat the Czechs. I think your tactics or everyone playing in their position and not wandering with attacking fullbacks and shit is working very well. You have a big talent in Verpakovskis.

GO LATVIA!!!

I felt this could happen. Congratulations!

BTW, Maris is a real speedster, twice as fast as the whole German defense

Congratulations! Historic result for you, and could've been even better if the ref called one of the two PKs.

Btw, can you guys give more info about Verpakovskis? Aside from what I can find in a Euro2004 website, like age and what club he plays for. Was he rated highly before the Euro? Is he a starter in Kiev?

He looked really impressive, a mini-Shevchenko.

Sympathiser of Arsenal and Barça

Congratulations.Great performance by Latvia  Your amazing teamwork and fighting spirit throughout the squad plus the individual talent of Verpakovskis makes a dangerous opponent to any team. even the win against the mighty Germany was not too far, as you had two more or less legitimate penalty situations turned down.

With more or less luck, Latvia could have 4 points now

Well that was not that far.
