Did you know that German National Team goalkeeper Oliver Kahn is half-latvian? Well, that`s true. His grandmother is from Latvia. That could be the reason of why he`s so good goalkeeper j/k

No, his girlfriends name is Baiba, but Rita it`s manufacture that produces clothes in Latvia, i bet all Latvian players have that kind of under-shirts. Actually you are not the only one who asked whether Rita is his g/f or what

Actually latvians has name Rita too, so it could be his g/f as well. But at first i thought that you are aiming to get Verpakovskis g/f place, and that`s why asking about g/f

Hello there ! Actually the hunting season for Verpakovskis is open . According to tribalfootball.com AS Rome shows interest 'bout him as potential member. So there is Rome ,Bayern,2teams from England's premier (Wolves, the other no named) and one from Spain (no named). What do U think folks? I reckon that Rome will bury him 'cos they have a lot of good forwards.

Fortunately Latvia only scored two goals. If more Latvian players scored a goal, people would think that the whole team has the same girlfriend...

Haven`t thought about it. Actually it`s a fact too And if we count - then Māris Verpakovskis has scored approx. 60% of Latvia goals in Euro2004 preliminary round + qualification games with Turkey. Just one guys did a very great job for all NT
To be precise about goals i did a little counting:

Latvia:Sweden 0:0
Latvia:Poland 1:0 (Jurijs Laizans)
Latvia:Sanmarino 1:0 (Andrejs Rubins)
Latvia:Sanmarino 3:0 (Prohorenkovs, Bleidelis 2x)
Latvia:Hungary 1:3 (Verpakovskis)
Latvia:Poland 0:2
Latvia:Hungary 3:1 (Verpakovskis 2x, Bleidelis)
Latvia:Sweden 1:0 (Verpakovskis)
Latvia:Turkey 1:0 (Verpakovskis)
Latvia:Turkey 2:2 (Verpakovskis)

From 13 goals that Latvia scored on her way to Euro2004 Verpakovskis owns 7 of them. Not bad at all

You are wrong.
In first Latvia:Sanmarino game in official statistics the goal author is 89'Carlo Valentini (o.g.) And in 2nd Latvia:Turkey game the first goal author was 66'Laizans. Verpakovskis scored bautiful 2nd gola on 78 game min.

PS. So Verpakovskis scored 6 goals not 7 whach also not bad

Guess i could post one more interesting fact about Latvian football. Club Skonto FC have won 13th Latvian Championship title, which is world record. Norwegian Rosenborg are the closest to SKonto - they`ve been 12 times champions of home championship

You mean 13 straight championships don't you?

Yes, that is a European record. Most championships, however, is held by Rangers I think, they have 50.
