bwahaha...

Here are the extended highlights:

Yanuzi with the MoM performance, bust shouldve made it 0-3 in the 2nd half with that breakaway, bad 1st touch

Unlike Dynamo good draws for Vorskla(if they eliminate glentoran) and Karpaty

karpaty-karagandy/st.patrick
Vorskla-Sligo Rovers

it can be a Ukraine/Ireland meeting

I like Yanuzi, first remember watching him in the Ukrainian Super Cup in 2009 when they played Dynamo. He's pretty decent and still really young. Sucks they lost Kulakov he's a nice little player

Good news, hopefully see all 4 Ukrainian teams in the 4th rd and get good draws again.

So Vorskla tied at home 0:0 and Karpaty thankfully won 2:0.

I was talking about Voronkov during the U-21 Championships, and I'm glad he has been loaned out to a team in European competition. I like him, he disappears in matches form time to time, but at Kryvbas he was impressive, so I hope at Lviv he gets a good chance to run around and play a bit. Obviously won't be breaking into Dynamo's squad with Sheva sitting on the bench these days, but I would like to see him succeed in the UPL and maybe bag a few more in Europe

And Vorskla and Karpaty qualified by winning second leg games.

the draw for the play off was already made today and it was ok for ukraine, could had been worst.

Metalist-Sochaux
Vorskla-Dinamo bucuresti
Paok-Karpaty
Dnipro-Fulham
Litex-Dynamo

As unseeded vorskla,KARPATY and Dnipro didn't meet a big team, metalist was a unluckly because they could had draw with rovers or alania but still they can go trough.

Manageable draws for Vorskla (better than Benfica) and Karpaty. Dnipro have to play a gritty English side that will be tough. Rusol v. Zamora/Dempsey....ugh I shutter to think... Metalist have a challenge but on their game they should advance. Dynamo has it easy.

Like you said its ok but could be worse. Ukraine really need Dnipro in the group stage, I do too lol...so tired of my club not being in Europe.

Dnipro can win. Fulham didn't even get there through their league position (fair-play ratings). + They are a shadow of the team that went to the Final under the previous manager. + Dnipro is match-fit, Fulham is certainly not.

All that considered, it will still be an even game I think. 50/50 chances.

The other draws are also pretty tight, even Litex isnt too bad of a team. We need at least 3 teams in the Group Stages and Shakhtar to carry the load in the CL. Slava Ukraina!

Quality goal by Khydobyak in Dublin btw. That guy looks brilliant one game, and goes invisible the next. Lol, at the opposition, they were holding a defensive line WITHIN their own box in several of the chances/goals that I've seen of the highlights...

Khudobyak's pretty small player. He's fit physically, playing as much as very few in the team, but he's light which becomes an issue when he's playing against opposition with size and speed to match his. And that's his main limitation, not instability, I think.

Otherwise, what a dreadful beginning of this season...:frustrat:

So the Vorskla tie - Bucharest are favourites still. My friend said that the club may go bankrupt if they don't make the group stage at the very least. The players will fight to to make it. Torje will be playing. Torje is "by far the best and most consistent player in Romania" (my friend again). "In Dinamo's last game he created 2 goals and in the game before that he created another one goal and got a penalty. He's on fire" - scouting report

Meanwhile Vorskla lost to an amazing goal made in Romania, if you lose to Arsenal at home...ugh...

Forum died abruptly?!

Anyway, I think considering everything, Ukrainian clubs did well in Europe over the last two weeks.

3 teams in the Group Stage is really the best we could hope for. Karpaty had some real momentum in their game, but that away goal really ended things for them. At least Dnipro won the return leg. They have to be one of the most under-achieving teams in Europe. Period. Say what you want about their backline, but there are teams with worse defenders who play better football, and are more compact at the back. I think its a chemistry or a coach thing.

So Dynamo actually played some nice football in smalll periods today, very smooth transitions and passing. somehow though they won with a MILEVSKY HEADER! I like Aliev, so happy to see him setting up the goal as well. Lets hope he peaks and scores some freekicks in the group stages.

Metalist completely outclassed Sochaux. Taison's goal is just silly; he beat the same defender twice and ran the length of the field to score! 0:4 in France, well done.

Vorskla are the real super-stars though. What a result! and the young kid getting two nice goals! The Albanians, Dallku and Yanuki were great also (as always). I hope they do better than Karpaty did in the groups last year and pick more than just 1 point.

Shakhtars group is even. Zenit, Porto and the Miners are approximately on the same level I would say. You expect them to qualify, but it will be very tough. Maybe Zenit and Shakhtar can go through as Porto have to travel massive distances to all three away legs...plus they have had a few changes in the squad and have lost key players + the coach...

Difficult group for Dynamo, great draw for Metalist.
Vorskla apart from Hannover also a good draw, they might beat kobevahn and liege at home, unlikely to go trough but could had been a much worst draw.

Metalist was unreal. Just speechless at how easily they won that game. Could have been 8-0 really.

I think DK and them need to win their groups. Vorskla just needs to get points for Ukraine, doubt they advance. Too bad this valueable experience people were bragging about last year didn't crap for Karpaty. Dnipro actually played well, high effort, if thats the way they played all the time they would not be underachieving like they are. I like Kalinic alot, think he will be one of the top strikers in UPL.

SD must advance out of that group. Its even, but i see that team being determined to take it to another level and truely join the ranks of the European elites. Show everyone that SD is not the same as Porto and Zenit but rather 1 class higher.

Pardon me, but what have "SD" or Zenit done to be considered on the same level as Porto in European competition, nevermind trying to be one class higher? :rollani:

Hey, look at that - is this a Real Madrid AND a Porto fan?

We shall see how the group goes Joshua. I think Porto might struggle, especially with the away games, they will be traveling out a lot. Shakhtar is strong at home, and won on the road last time they were in Portugal (last season). Porto have had changes in the squad and lost their coach. Zenit and Shakhtar have only gotten stronger. May the best team win.
