World cup 2010,qualifying.

Croatia
England
Ukraine
Belarus
Kazakhstan
Andorra

Not a easy group for Ukraine. They have to win all home games to stand a chance.

Btw,people can in the end of the qualification compare Russia to Ukraine though with israel and macedonia russia group was more stronger.

England handed revenge mission
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/prelimi.../analysis.html

There's only one Ukrainian name mentioned in the article and, frankly, if that's the case Ukraine is doomed. (Never mind, there's always 2012...)

I just don't see Ukraine competing in this group, they'll get third place most likely.

Don't forget, you'd need to take two points off Croatia and at least 3 from England. Good luck

Exactly, Ukraine isn't going to give England any problem. They can't play the short passing game and styleistically play the same exact way England do only with far less talent.

Ukraine don't have a playmaker and their wingers are rotan and husiev.:rollani: ...kalinichenko is a god compare to them.

Ukraine needs to produce quality players in the next years, you don't see nothing in shakhtar and dynamo teams now..well maybe naturalize some brazilians.:rollani:

Yea aren't Rotan and Husiev highly rated by Ukrainian fans? They've got Voronin who's good, but he's a just a workhorse. Sheva's done, forget about him. Tymoschuk's their best player but he's slow and only tackles. Can't pass or create to save his life.

Seriously though, Torbinskiy, Izmailov, Saenko, Semshov, Progbenyak, Karyaka, would all walk into the Ukrainian squad. Imagine how much better Ukraine would be with those guys?

Torbinskiy would look like Zidane on their team

Rotan is useless,husiev just overated.

Timochuk is good tacticaly but he doesn't make a team by himself.

Forget torbinsky,Rebko will be Zidane! ,and Pavluchenko Drogba or Ibrahimovic!

Now wait to see Gusev be a starter in dnipro as samodin.

LOL, what's with Russia's big heads these days? Just cause Hiddink won them a pass to Euro, all of a sudden their players are of quality? Not so fast. Didn't you lose to Portugal in a World Cup qualifyer like 7-0? OK, that's what I thought San Marino/Liechenstein

Then we have Belarus and Kazahkstan taking away points from us?? Sorry, not happening. We'll have our hands full with you know who, but we'll take care of the other business, mate.

Russians should never talk this way about Ukrainina futbol. Please, we carried the USSR on our shoulders for decades at a time. It was hard work, we could've used some help! But it's cool, cause Ukraine advanced deep into the World Cup ALL ON OUR OWN and had the spotlight to ourselves So, until you guys beat us head-to-head (remember Euro 2000?) or advance further than the quarters of a tournament, please keep it real, you are No. 2

With that said, I will definitely be cheering on Russia at Euro 2008. I like some of Russia's players, you guys could do well. I just didn't like the sound of some of these comments pretending like Ukrainians aren't Kings of Soviet Football...Always will be

If you guys were the kings then why did Russia have more capped players and more club titles?

Have fun watching us in Austria and in South Africa. But it's ok, UEFA threw you a bone and you'll be in Euro 2012.

Since independence

Major tournament apperances,

Russia 5, Ukraine 1

Club titles, Russia 1, Ukraine 0

International titles, Russia 1, Ukraine 0.

1 tournament apperance in what...7-8 tries? Congrats, you're on the same level as Latvia.

I don't care about caps. The last man on the bench gets a cap as does the team's maestro! The most telling fact is: the influential members of USSR that made the team click were: ding ding, Ukrainian. Not to mention Russia is enormous and has a larger population (Ukraine isn't small by any means, but still).

Moscow is the old empire's capitol and is why it has accumulated more titles. That was how it was, huge population, huge expectations from the population to have a winner. Yankees, Lakers, Celtics, etc. The better question is: why was Dynamo Kyiv the FIRST non-moscow team to win the title? Why does Kyiv have the MOST Soviet titles of ANY team? Even my boys from Dnipro grabbed themselves 2 Soviet Chips! Sorry, you're not going to win that argument whatsoever. Kyiv. Period. End of Discussion. Legendary like no other Soviet team.

Independence? We've always been Ukraine, don't try to use that card and take away from us the worldly success one of the "GREATEST teams in the history of WORLD FUTBOL." Dynamo Kyiv is more prestiguos than any Moscow team. Dynamo '86... 'nough said. They won like 5trophies that year (4 years before independence) Dynamo '75 '98 '99 more impressive than any of your panzy outfits!

Yes, can't wait to watch Euro 2008, thanks. Lets hope Russia doesn't completely collapse like the scared kittens they are and Hiddink disregards his contract extension before Africa.
Russia: 5 major tournaments-5 major failures. Ukraine: 1 major tournament-1 major success. Some food for thought...
I'm glad you know about Euro 2012. Uefa gave us a big nice bone, we deserve it, and we won't stop grizzling on it.
