I don't care about caps. The last man on the bench gets a cap as does the team's maestro! The most telling fact is: the influential members of USSR that made the team click were: ding ding, Ukrainian. Not to mention Russia is enormous and has a larger population (Ukraine isn't small by any means, but still).
Moscow is the old empire's capitol and is why it has accumulated more titles. That was how it was, huge population, huge expectations from the population to have a winner. Yankees, Lakers, Celtics, etc. The better question is: why was Dynamo Kyiv the FIRST non-moscow team to win the title? Why does Kyiv have the MOST Soviet titles of ANY team? Even my boys from Dnipro grabbed themselves 2 Soviet Chips! Sorry, you're not going to win that argument whatsoever. Kyiv. Period. End of Discussion. Legendary like no other Soviet team.
Independence? We've always been Ukraine, don't try to use that card and take away from us the worldly success one of the "GREATEST teams in the history of WORLD FUTBOL." Dynamo Kyiv is more prestiguos than any Moscow team. Dynamo '86... 'nough said. They won like 5trophies that year
(4 years before independence)
Dynamo '75 '98 '99 more impressive than any of your panzy outfits!
Yes, can't wait to watch Euro 2008, thanks. Lets hope Russia doesn't completely collapse like the scared kittens they are and Hiddink disregards his contract extension before Africa.
Russia: 5 major tournaments-5 major failures. Ukraine: 1 major tournament-1 major success. Some food for thought...
I'm glad you know about Euro 2012. Uefa gave us a big nice bone, we deserve it, and we won't stop grizzling on it.
