Tough draw for Skahthar, but with their experience they will go through.

Red Bull Salzburg are the richest club in Austria, they are managed by Giovanni Trappatoni.

I´ve written a profile some weeks ago. Check it out:
https://www.xtratime.org/forum/showpo...66&postcount=1

As for their current status, they haven´t been able to convince so far. Their defence looks weaker than last season and they still need a fourth striker. Their midfield is impressive though and if Zickler is fit, Salzburg could pose a threat to Shakhtar.

Trap takes Shakhtar very serious and didn´t look happy after the draw, but most Austrian media underrate Shakhtar, I fear. Imo, Shakhtar are 55-45 favs,

If Shakhtar thinks its a tough draw they shouldn't be in CL. This is not a young unexperienced team, this team, with the same coach has played on every level possible. No reason not to beat them in both games.
Same goes for Dynamo.

Dynamok is right, the draws for Shakhtar and Dynamo were as good as they get. Both should advance with no excuses. For the record, Sarajevo and Salzberg were the lowest unseeded teams.

As I said, Shakhtar are favs, but you seem to underrate Salzburg. This is a team full of internationals and highly experienced. Niko Kovac, Johan Vonlanthen, Alexander Zickler, Sasa Ilic, Vratislav Lokvenc and so on are no lightweights.

After your players watch Shakhtar's 2nd round matches, Im sure they will underrate them... p

No offense, but the guys you listed there are all aged and been around for some time (apart from Vonlanthen, never heard of him), meaning Salzburg did not spend millions to attract them, whereas as Shakhtar spent, what? 80-100mln on players/wages over the past 3 season... This is way too much if you end up playing in the UEFA cup instead of CL. When Shakhtar conceded that first goal at home against Pyunik you could actually see the president sweating like a pig p Well, you could understand him, cant you? So, my point is all pressure in this tie will be on Shakhtar and if they manage to control their emotions and play the way they can (which they should, after all the team already has quite a bit of euro experience), then they should progress, if not its gonna be a long season...

I know Shakhtar pretty well, hence I think they will progress. But there are many factors you should consider: Salzburg plays its homegames on artificial turf, usually a big advantage. Trap is a shrewd tactician. And I mentioned only a few players, the team is even and has no weak players, but no stars like Castillo, Brandao or Lucarelli.

Salzburg is vulnerable in defence. Shakhtar should use it and score in Salzburg, that would seal 50% of the deal, cos they are really bad at away games.

And one fact: I am NO Salzburg fan. If Shakhtar makes it, I'd be glad to see it.

Viola,Brandao is no star player but he is a starter ahead of all the ukes....this hladky is the only uke striker who show something in Shakhtar in last years.

Shakhtar have only two star players, lucarelli and castillo but no one knows if they will show a class level in shakhtar.

Salzburg have all the chances,it is 50-50 to me but i think trap will make it.Shakhtar is overated at european level only beacuse they have money...their defense is weak, only the right back is decent and they lost their best player matuzalem.

Overrated???

I don't recall any Austrian team playing in the spring of late....

Maybe Kleber you're getting confused with that other YKPAIHIAH team which likes to lose to underrated teams like FC Thun....

Bwahahahahahaha

U r so f*cking miserable. I can see you sitting there, rooting for Saltsburg, rooting for Saraevo, not becuase you care about them but just to back up your idiotic arguments with yourself.

Calm down,behave yourself.

What i said is just the truth, since you don't have arguements to back it you come with personal insults.

Salzburg just had a dream draw, they are all happy with it,and no is not me saying it....better draw only levski(already eliminated) or Dynamo/steaua.
