Football in Kharkiv

With Metalist having won 2 from their first 3, and FK Kharkiv holding an expensively-built Metalurg Donetsk to a goalless draw, with Helios moving into a very healthy 3rd place in the first league, and wins today for Arsenal and Gazovyk HGB it looks like Kharkiv is the place to be at the moment when it comes to the health of the football in Ukraine's big cities.

I wonder what their formula is for this current success?

"You don't play football for the name on the back of your shirt, you play football for the name on the front."

I don't know to be honest...It's a big city, a low unemployment rate, and an example of a Ukrainian city where people have a relatively good quality of life....If they had 1 big team and a big investor, or even if 1 investor decided to invest in one of Kharkivs teams, we would see another big Ukrainian team pop up. Other 'football markets' in Ukraine that should soon be invested in include Luhans'k & L'viv.

Kharkiv will struggle to stay in the top division this year anyway.

I doubt it.

Stal, Zorya, Karpaty, Krivbas, Vorskla, Metalurg Z are all ahead of them in the relegation queue.

Almost did.. It could've been a number of teams come the end of the season... They were just a bit luckier than Volyn...

Arsenal Kiev

Hello,

Does anybody know who takes the free-kicks and corners for Arsenal Kiev?

Is it correct that Mizin is the captain of the team?

If anybody can help that would be marvellous.

Thank you

Luke

P.s How good a manager is Zavarov? what marks out of 10 would he get for:

Coaching
Motivation,
Player judgement
Discipline
Tactical Awareness
