UEFA Cup 2006/2007

So tomorrow is the draw for the 2nd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Cup adn thats where it all gets interesting, particularly for us: Chornomorets and Metalurh Z will start at this stage.

Luckily for them, both are seeded in their Central-East region:

SEEDED:

49.537 - FC Basel (Sui)
33.769 - Slavia Praha (Cze)
29.104 - Wisla Kraków (Pol)
23.537 - Grasshoppers Zürich (Sui)
13.070 - FC Petrzalka (Svk)
10.504 - Rubin Kazan (Rus)
9.777 - Metalurg Zaporizhia (Ukr)
8.777 - Chornomorets Odesa (Ukr)

8.537 - FC Sion (Sui)
8.537 - Young Boys (Sui)

UNSEEDED:

6.723 - SV Mattersburg (Aut)
6.723 - SV Ried (Aut)
6.104 - Wisla Plock (Pol)
4.840 - FC Fehérvár (Hun)
3.255 - Zimbru Chisinau (Mol)
2.090 - Ameri Tbilisi (Geo)
1.485 - FC Vaduz (Lie)
1.457 - BATE Borisov (Bls)
1.457 - Dinamo Minsk (Bls)

...and becasue we are seeded we will avoid "big guns" at this stage like Basel, Grasshoper, Wisla and Slavia Prague

Honestly we must be able to beat any of these unseeded teams, although Id rather avoid Polish or Austrian teams...

Anything may prove lethal for Metalurg, even Vaduz that whipped some Hungarian club.

Frankly, I am not getting what Metalurg's thinking about? Uefa cup gives them a big time chance to finally earn some money. And what they do? They disband the promissing team (at least, on the paper) of the last season, and have a new team with three mediocre Georgians as big stars. :rollani: Considering their game in Lviv, they may be bounced by any team now. Zaporizzhya did build a new arena but it fits slightly more than 11,000 :rollani: Does not look they expect to give their fans reason to show up at the games.

Dynamo Minsk and Bate Borisov play almost every year in the european cups unlike Zaporizha and Odessa.

They lost Belorussians and Russians players who likely didn't give a shit about the club and move to Russia to earn more money in Terek Grozny and Vladivostok...Aliev,better not to talk and Nahornyak ended his career,Bredun went to Arsenal.

Their new stadium seems to be very nice.

What happened to Dema Kovalenko? Still, Uefa cup with its group tournament and many games offers a great opportunity to earn money. Whatever happened to old team, why substitute it with a shity one?

And stadium for 11,000? What is it, a factory team's arena? I don't think they need 30,000 but at least 20,000.

They play and lose every year...

If we cant beat teams with 1.xxx coefficient then we don't deserve sending teams to this competition and they should be playing against
Selo Havnujxivka Select XI in oblast competition.

I don't think that they will have 20.000 people there apart from Shakhtar/Dynamo games so 11.000 makes more sense.Kovalenko is still in Zaporizha.

Well, both Chydo & Metaurg will be through. Good draw here, at least.

I wouldnt be that confident... I didnt want to be drawn with Polish teams for a reason and Zimbru, well, i got that gut feeling they wont be an easy team to beat, especially for Metalurh Z, who are by far in a worse form than they were last season...
