FIFA and ELO Ranking

The new ranking are out and we're # 15 baby! Weee! USA and Mexico dropped to 16th and 18th respectively so maybe now people might start taking the fifa rankings seriously.

Yeah, thats about right, but seems a little high now! I would say we float around the 25-30 zone in FIFA rankings if they were truly accurate.

To add to this YKPAIHA's jump of 30 places is the biggest jump of any the nations that competed in the recent World Cup.

Also this is the highest ever ranking by YKPAIHA. (Previous high was 22 in Sept. 1999)

An amazing turnaround by Bloxin and Co. to be ranked 87th in Septenber of 2004 and now to be in the Top 20 is worthy of praise.

> I wonder how this will affect seeding for the European Championships Finals, if we can make it out of our Group of Death...?

Good question, but the big if is qualifying for EURO2008. If YKPAIHA does make it through and if we continue to improve in ranking, which will happen if YKPAIHA is to advance at the expense of Italy and France, then YKPAIHA could well be a Pot 2 candidate.

Great!!! Too bad it means nothing really... p

btw, about two weeks ago I read somewhere that FIFA were making few changes to the way they calculate these rankings and were about to disclose the new and more accurate ones... Are these the ones? I think they are

scotland are 41st which is really good for us. ukraine are in the right place imo. this group of death is going to be intresting because france wont have a lot of there star players because they are retiring so maybe it will be close for qualifying?

IMO Russia are too high. Australia are way better then them, not only one spot. Serbia is better too. Ireland are better, and Senegal probably a bit better. Slovakia are just about equal, as are Scotland, in my honest opinion. But of course everything in the ranking cant be right.

No dislike I'm just pointing out some flaws......If anything I said there is wrong then tell me, because I don't see anything wrong with what I said. I guess I'll give Russia that they're better then Scotland though...But other then that it all seems right .

Russia have very talented players but suck as a team (kind of like Real Madrid to some extent, though the players at RM are better)

So we moved 2 places up in the FIFA ranking (which, although is improved aint much accurate) and also 2 places up in to ELO ranking (which I believe is very accurate)
http://www.eloratings.net/

FIFA - 13th place (imagine this! )
ELO - 23rd place (just about right IMHO)

There's no "ratings" at least for me.

I would rate Ukraine #1. But I don't run ratings, so I can't. None are 100% or even 70% accurate, they just give a little indication of quality once in a while. So we're 13th now, 2 years ago what were we, like 70th?

We stayed put in the FIFA ranking @ 13th place and moved up 2 places in the ELO ranking

FIFA - 13th place (highest ever!)
ELO - 21st place (highest ever was 20th in August 2005 and June 2006)

Rankings for the first month of 2007 are unchagned...
FIFA - 13th place (record high for the 4th month in a row)
ELO - 21st place (2 away from beating a record)
