Intertoto Cup 2006

So, yesterday we finally found out who will be Dnipro's opponent in the Intertoto Cup second round: its slovakian club Nitra

Nitra eliminated a team from Luxembourg with a very hard name to type p 12:2 aggregate. (6:2 at home and 6:0 away)

Second round opening games will be played on July 1-2. Replies: July 8-9.

Well, just beat this Nitra club and here you go. Forget about those 12:2, luxemburg club is might not be better then the one that dynamo crushed 21:0.

Melaschenko and Andrienko are both still in the squad, assets or Protasov just couldn't find interest from another club?

It's 1 - 1 right now, Rak scored for Nitra and Kornilenko scored for Dnipro. Common Dnipro, ДНІПРО ВПЕРЕД!

Let's face it - any team who can't beat FC Nitra (who?!?) shouldn't be playing in the Intertoto Cup, never mind the UEFA Cup!!!

Dnipro-2 should be good enough to beat this team considering Dnipro's reputation, especially in recent European campaigns.

Very true, though it is in Slovakia so it will be harder, don't forget, for Nitra they have nothing to lose since they're underdogs. But I agree, if they can't beat Nitra something is wrong.

Who the hell is that Pashayev? ,and Krava is Kravchenko no?

Dnipro should have buy more players in this summer especialy with some players missing because of the world cup.

Well Dnipro lost 2-1 and altough Slovakian football is getting better nowadays, world cup qualification play offs and Artmedia in the Cl last year, dnipro should have done better because Nitra is not even a top slovakian team...

Well i expect them to win the tie at home but who knows.
Overall not good news when you gone meet Marseille in two weeks time.

From online commentary on the Dnipro's official site (the game wasnt shown on TV):
Bartulovic played on the left wing thruout the game. In the first half he had a bended shot just wide off the top corner and almost made an assist with his low cross late into the first half. The stiker was very close to get a touch on it.
In the second half Bartulovic was much more active and had two good crosses early on. First the striker miskicked the ball and later he seen his header bounce off the ground and wide. Half way into the second time, Mladen has had a chance to score himself from a 30 meters free kick, but his shot was blocked inside the penalty area. A minute later he almost got Dnipro striker one-on-one with a beautiful chip, but it was just a bit inaccurate.
Overall Dnipro fans say that Bartulovic was the most impressive of the new signings thus far.
