Agree, last year I liked seeing teams like Serbia and Poland with most of their top players present...
The only reason for this drop of quality teams that i can think of is the upcomming world cup and all national teams are looking for specific opponents...

Although even with U-21 teams you could've found better teams than Moldova and Belarus... I mean Serbia U-21 is playing in the Euro Championship this year... Why couldnt you invite them?

Maybe they want to play the tournament during the period of 12-14 may, because Loban passed away on 13 may......nevertheless they should have found better U21 teams. But this tournament needs a big sponsor and quickly if not he will die... :depress: ,maybe the best Rus/ukr teams could play it from now...but now they have also the Channel 1 cup in february....oh well.

What they need to do is end that stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid CIS cup or whatever, and do soemthing like that, but for Lobanovsky....Take some of the CIS thing and some of the current Loban., tournament, and add it into one, and it would be actually pretty good..

Yes,but in what month...february?,July?,i believe the beginning of February will be good and put there six or eight clubs from Rus/ukr...but than this tournament has to be played in Ukraine, how can you play in Ukraine on the beginning of February? :undecide: ,July will be the best month but the schedule for the clubs is so hard nowadays....

But the money is the big problem, but damn can not they find a millions dollars or so of price money to the tournament, the clubswill come than for sure!

But for example how could you do that this year, the ukrainan league will be already finnish(see Dynamo schedule for example, four games in 13 years) and than the players will go to the national teams....than in the russian league they are playing the last rounds of the first half of the season and they have no dates left realy.....

But the money is the big issue in my opinion.

Usually the Premier League games are still being played in May and June... In addition, Russian league is in the early stage in May and so you cannot expect any of the Russian or, in fact any other clubs from Europe to show up for the tournament... May is probably the worse time for it...

January 6th was Lobanovsky's birthday. :smileani: I guess a tournament devoted to this date could well be a challenge for the players just back from winter vacations, no?...

Unt U-21

...falters to Belarus U-21 in the Lobanovsky tournament by a score of 3:3, with Feschuk scoring a double along with an almost deciding strike by Aliev on the 37th minute. Belarus being down one man on a red card on the 54th minute, tied the game on the 90th with Pavluchek scoring a hat-trick for Belarus, who went on to advance on penalties 5:4, with Pukanych missing the sole shot for Ukraine.

Not a very good prep at all by the U21s...

Milevsky was missing because of the Golden Match.

Still to be up 3-2 and sucking out in such a way is not good!
