Maxim Shatskikh

I remember this guy played great in the matches against Arsenal a few years ago. I recently saw his name in a accolade where he was voted the third best player in Asia, and I was wondering how he has developed. Is he a regular for Dinamo Kiev and is he perhaps going to transfer to other bigger clubs in Europe?

He was voted the second best player of Asia this year.
He is the second best all time scorer for dynamo in the Ukrainian league behind Rebrov.
He is a regular in Dynamo first eleven, altough his best seasons in Dynamo were the first one,99-00,and 02-03.

Some english team try to buy him,i believe it was West Ham,but Dynamo President refused that.....

150 games,77 goals in the Ukrainian league so far.......

Maxim was brought young as a replacement to Shevchenko, who left to Milan that year... He progressed well in his first few seasons but never really looked to fill the shoes of Sheva or even Rebrov...

Yes he did score a lot of goals, and many of those goals were stunning... One of them (vs Newcastle in Kyiv i think) was voted one of the best goals in the Champions League that year...

But he also has a reputation of missing some sitters... If he ever moved to another club, I think it would've been an average team, which would struggle for a European spot domestically...

But, he did do a lot for the club and will be remembered as a good player; although I wouldnt put him amongst Dynamo's greats...

P.S. I think it was West Bromwich, kleber...

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I think he should stay at Dynamo Kiev instead of joining a mediocre team in Western Europe. I am sure they will qualify to the Champions League again anytime soon, probably even next year.

But you did defeat Trabzonspor two years ago....

I really like Dynamos stadium by the way, its great when they score goals. And you see all the people stand up at the same time, It looks great on television, ant it has a large capacity aswell from what I understand. Especially the game against Real Madrid two years ago when they scored many goals (4 I think, they won 4-2??) that was great too watch.

Yeah, but what realy hurts in Thun defeat was that we were not only out of Cl but also from the european competitions.....

Yeah, the stadium has a 82.000 attendance capacity, altough that it is the olympic stadium,is not the Dynamo stadium realy, the Dynamo Stadium is the Valery Lobanovsky one with 16.000 places.

That game was against Leverkusen,4-2,against Real Madrid the score was 2-2.

Yes, the stadium is big (upto 80,000 capacity)
And you're probably thinking of the Bayer Leverkusen game, where we won 4:2... With Real we drew 2:2 at home that same year

P.S. Even if you're seeded you can still get big teams like Fiorentina (if everything stays as it is in Italy by the end of the season)

Olimpiyskiy can hold almost 84 000 . By the way - I want the pigs, kicking sparshit moscow out of the CL will give DK a bit of a warm up, cos we might face good teams in the Champions League.
