The Mlada Boleslav thread

How do you guys rate this coach? He´s currently at Mlada, right?

He could go to Politehnica Timisoara the next season

I think he's a good coach. Mlada Boleslav is playing good this season and also on European level.

There are such rumours? wow!

I rate him as very good coach, he made several players perform on very good level, and all the time he is in Boleslav, his team is trying to play good football. This season they are 4th, but still challenging for the title.

In fact, Politehnica directors say he has already signed a contract with them.

Really? Noone ever spoke of that here in Czech. I'd be really curious how he'd do there, I guess they are strong and established club - right?

He has a contract I believe with Boleslav for next season at least. Looks like Romanian press has nothing better to report than some football rumours

Politehnica directors have said that; press only reports what they say.

We´ll see if it´s true or not.

COACH UHRIN LEAVES MLADA BOLESLAV
After almost three years in charge, Dusan Uhrin, Jr. has resigned as Mlada Boleslav coach.

The 39-year-old announced his departure shortly after yesterday’s 4-0 win over Liberec — a result that earns Boleslav a place in next season’s UEFA Cup.

There’s speculation in the Czech media that Uhrin will take over at Romanian side FCU Politehnica Timisoara next season.

LAVICKA HASN’T RULED OUT BOLESLAV JOB
Vitezslav Lavicka says he has had “several offers from domestic clubs and also from abroad” since stepping down as Slovan Liberec coach, and isn’t ruling out taking over at Mlada Boleslav.

Lavicka left Liberec after his team lost 4-0 to Boleslav on the final day of the season — a result that meant Slovan dropped to fourth place, missing out on the Champions League or the UEFA Cup.

The Mlada Boleslav coach’s position became available when Dusan Uhrin, Jr. stepped down, most likely to take over at Romanian side Politehnica Timisoara.

I think Lavicka is a highly-rated coach now. I wouldn't be surpriced if he was offered the job in MB.

BOLESLAV TO PLAY FRIENDLY AGAINST STUTTGART
Mlada Boleslav’s summer preparations, which include a friendly against German champions VfB Stuttgart, begin with a week’s fitness training in Pisek and a tournament in Celakovice.

From July 11th, the squad — currently without a coach — travels to Austria, where they’ll face Stuttgart in one of three warm-up games the central Bohemian side have arranged.

Boleslav have also arranged friendlies against another German side, VfL Wolfsburg — to be played in Mlada Boleslav on July 20th — and against Turkish team Genclerbirligi.

Did this suprise you ?

ZAJIC IS NEW MLADA BOLESLAV COACH
Mlada Boleslav will be coached by Ludek Zajic next season, following Dusan Uhrin, Jr.’s move to Romanian side Politehnica Timisoara.

The 46-year-old has signed a rolling contract with the central Bohemian side, who, after finishing third last season, will play in the UEFA Cup’s second qualifying round. Zajic’s assistant will be Petr Cuhel.

Last season, Zajic worked as Boleslav’s chief scout. Prior to that he coached the club’s first team in partnership with Milan Boksa, in the 2003/04 season, but lasted only nine rounds in the job.

BOLESLAV’S POLACEK TO MISS START OF SEASON
One of Mlada Boleslav’s key players, Tomas Polacek, has undergone a groin operation and is set to miss the start of the new season.

The 26-year-old midfielder will now take no part in new Boleslav coach Ludek Zajic’s summer preparations.

BOLESLAV BUY KALINA FROM KLADNO
Vaclav Kalina has joined Mlada Boleslav from Kladno, signing a two-year contract with his new club.

The two sides agreed a deal at the end of last week, and the 28-year-old midfielder joined Boleslav’s Austrian training camp on Saturday, but a late offer from Teplice threatened to derail the move.

Despite Teplice reportedly offering more money for Kalina, however, his transfer to Mlada Boleslav is now a done deal.

Neither Kladno nor Boleslav would reveal the eventual price, but Kladno announced that they would get a sell-on fee if Kalina moves again.
