SLAVIA’S LUKAS JAROLIM TO MISS PRAGUE DERBY
Slavia Praha captain Lukas Jarolim will miss Monday’s all-important derby game against Sparta after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season on Wednesday. Slavia will also be missing defender Radek Dosoudil through suspension. Sparta’s Pavel Horvath and Radoslav Zabavnik are also suspended. Separately, Tescoma Zlin defender Vlastimil Vidlicka will miss Sunday’s game against Jablonec, having also accumulated four yellow cards.

SPARTA PLAN KVASNAK TRIBUTE BEFORE DERBY
Sparta Praha will pay tribute to former great Andrej Kvasnak, who died on Wednesday, at Monday’s derby game against Slavia. There’ll be a minute’s silence prior to kick-off and Sparta’s players will wear black armbands. Kvasnak’s funeral will held at Prague’s Vinohrady cemetery at 11am on the day of the game.

I will be there. One thing I'm really looking forward to is the battle of fans, of ultras. And I mean the quality of their support during the match. Slavia ultras are in great form, very creative in the recent weeks and may be a tough opponents for the home fans in Letná.

But of course what matters the most is the actual match. Derby never has a favourite. Sparta plays shit but if you score one (lucky) goal everything can change then. Plus they will be motivated much more than ever in this season.

Slavia is good but they sometimes suck at finishing plus if you prepare really good tactics against them (like Plzen, they completely erased Svento), Slavia then doesn't know what to do.

I can't wait, what a match that will be! If Sparta wins they will lead the league!

Oh and one more thing Slavia will miss its captain - Lukas Jarolim. Even if I don't like him, he's a member of the starting XI everytime and that automaticaly means they will really miss him.

VRŠOVICE!!!

POLICE PREPARE FOR PRAGUE DERBY
Close to a thousand police will be on duty for this evening’s sold-out Sparta-Slavia game, according to the Mlada fronta Dnes newspaper.

The police’s biggest concern is a planned march by several hundred Slavia fans from Old Town Square to the Toyota Arena (Letna) stadium before the game.

“We’ve set up a crisis command in which all police units are represented,” Prague Transport Police chief Pavel Svrcula told the paper, adding that the police helicopter will also be in operation.

The match, at which a capacity crowd of over 20,000 is expected, kicks off at 5:15pm.

Both teams are on a decline compared to last 5 years, so it's hard to predict. Probably Sparta wins this one as they're are playing at home, 1-0 or 2-1

Bad performance of Slavia, lack of self-confidence and experienced players. Sparta deserved to win, no question. Tomáš Řepka

Atmosphere: impressive, when full stadium cheers it's impressive. But again too much hate there, too much racism, too much primitivism. If you want to attend a match together with your girlfriend choose a different stadium.

Congrats to Sparta anyway

Slavia always fails in big matches. It looks like they didnt have any big chances in the game, just like in Tottenham match. They sure have experienced players like Vlcek, Reiter, Urbanek, but definitely not enough quality. I dont get why they got Reiter, he was a total bust in MLS with Chicago, why not get their youth a chance? Anyways, hopefuly that will end any talk of Jarolim as candidate for NT coach.

This year they won in Mladá Boleslav and in Liberec, both title contenders...

The attendance was quite poor, but what do they expect on Monday afternoon in Strahov? Anyway, the match was entertaining, though Bilek´s bringing on of Kisel was a bit of a disaster. The best part had to have been the look on Kalivoda´s face when he was sent off for collecting his second yellow after removing his shirt. I thought even footballers could count to two, but I guess I was wrong.

Patrick, it was sold out. But I don't understand why the capacity was reduced.

Sparta was IMHO better and should be disappointed with the result.

And... some fans are really idiots, what a shame the security, police and media are even worse.

I had heard there were no more tickets, so I was confused by the low attendance. The worst thing was that the atmosphere was not as electric as it usually is for this derby.

Sparta was better in the first half, but Slavia dominated in the second, until Kalivoda´s red card anyway.
I think if he had not been sent off, Slavia would have won, so in that respect I am not disappointed. But if you had told me before the match that it would end in a draw, then yes, I would have been very disappointed!
