Getting tickets in Cairo

Heya all,

I'll be in Cairo from the 24th to the 31st of January, and from what I can tell, Al-Ahly will be playing on the 27th. I'd really love to go see them - so what's the best way of getting tickets? And how much do/should they cost?

Thanks,
O

Ahly will play on the 27th of Jan? But the Egyptian league is temporarily suspended due to the African Cup of Nations.. Exactly which fixture are you referring to?

Getting tickets in Egypt is a piece of cake so no need to worry about their availability once you're here. They're cheap as hell and unless it's a high profile match (Ahly vs. Zamalek or Ismaily, or an African Cup final) then the stadium is half empty. I assume you'll be staying in a hotel? if so it will be easy to ask one of the employees there to buy you a ticket, don't let him fool you though because like I said tickets here are cheap. 10-15 euros worth would get you the best seat.

Thanks for the help.
It's a cup game against some team I've never heard of: http://www.soccerway.com/teams/egypt/al-ahly/ .
On the same day, Zamalek play (also Cup) away at Fayoum: http://www.soccerway.com/teams/egypt/zamalek/ .

I've just checked Al-Ahly's official website as well as the EFA's website, but I can't find a specific date for the Cup match against Nabaroh. Are you sure that the source you've provided is reliable enough with regards to Egyptian football?

You may have a point. I've seen the same game with the same date on other sites, too, though.
But I also found this, dated January 3: http://new.filgoal.com/English/News.aspx?NewsID=63156

The fixture dates of the last 32 round will be set according to the progress of Egypt in the African Cup of Nations this month.
And last I checked, Egypt were looking good in their group, so that may pose a problem.

I'm not sure, but I think we're playing this fixture away & that would be in Mansoura not Cairo.

No expectations..No disappointments
