Welcome back!

feinak ?

True, Senegal only brought five european based players (obviously Diouf, Fadiga, Camara and the other england based players are busy these days in the epl) while Ecuador's roster is made up of local based players, so mighty Uganda is the only team at full strength for this mickey mouse, worthless tourney...

Well, I'll watch our match and I hope we perform well. Though a 6-0 drubbing can be deceiving, if you know what I mean...

Im definetly going to be looking for a score of that calibre, and see what Hossam Hassan, Zidan, and Heema in particular will do in the game.

They were due to replace Kenya, but because Shehata wanted to play an African team in the first game he decided to approach Uganda instead, who accepted (coached by Egyptian Morsy)

Senegal beat Ecuador with 10-men 2-1

HT Egypt 1 - 0 Uganda
44' Amr Zaki

Hossam Hassan making his come-back in the second half.

Average performance overall. A lot of work needs to be done if we want to compete for the ACN.

Ahmed Hassan had a pretty good game, looked motivated and was unfortunate not to bag a goal or two...

Zaki fought hard as usual, decent performance. This guy is a warrior.

Meteb was disappointing. So was Barakat. And Hassan Mostafa, and Tarek el Sayed...

Ahmed Fathi had a good first half, 4/5 crosses from the right flank yet he disappeared in the second for some reason or another.

Id take Abdel Wehab over Tarek any day, also Zaki - Mido would be good up-front. Eventhough Heema didnt have much playing time, but he looked sharp and solid and id take him over Hassan Mustafa. Shehata needs to really see the rest of the time, rather than crash 2-3 subs in the last 10 mins of the game.

Don't know about that, Zaki and Mido are way too similar attackers. But if Meteb carries on like this, he definitely doesn't deserve a starting spot in the team. Yeah some moronic Zamalek fans in the stands insulted him, but that's not an excuse. He looked disinterested and didn't give 100% for the national team jersey.

We need heart and determination, what the Italians call "grinta", to win this tournament. We don't have the best players in africa, but Tunisia don't either and they won the ACN two years ago because they had the desire to win it and their players fought like lions.

Heema and Hossam WILL do their best to prove their critics wrong while on the other hand Emad Meteb and Hassan Mostafa have nothing to prove because they're "elite", super star players. Motivation is key.

I'd give both Ibrahim and Hossam a chance in the Senegal match, right from the first minute. Let's see how will they perform.

He hasn't been consistent since that police officer court case.
Anyway, aweful first half. We were slow and underestimated thier team. The second was better and we created more chances.
Ahmed Hassan Hopefully he will join Ahly by the end of this season.

If I were in his place, I'd look for a club in one of the top european leagues. Ahmed Hassan deserves it, eventhough it would be great to witness him in a red shirt...

Agree that Amr Zaki and Mido are similar, but Zaki has been on fire lately and same goes for Mido (both 7 goals this season btw), Moteb is not at his best and Hossam still needs to show us what he can do. I would not consider Aly and Ossama to be honest, they wont add anything to our attack. If anything give their spot to Bilal, cause when he's on form he's without a doubt better than both.

Apparently Shehata will give a chance to a number of new players for the Senegal match tomorrow. Good.

Barakat is injured so he won't be able to play. I'd drop Hadary (try Abdel Monsef and Abdel Wahed - one half each), Hassan Mostafa (Heema), Meteb & Zaki (Hossam & Ossama/Bilal) and also give Beshir a go in defence.

Beshir packed his stuff and left the national team's camp and got an indefinite suspension! Unprofessional attitude! :irritate:

I have never rated Beshir as a competent defender. I prefer El Saka/gom3a combo as CDs. Besher leaving the NT camp unauthorized is a reported story at this point as well as Zidan being dropped presumably due to not responding to his call-up if you believe the NT staff story.

Regarding, Beshir I remember him wanting a delay in call-up due to family illness or issues. Not sure if this has anything to do with his leaving. The Zidan story has holes everywhere that are hard to believe. I guess we have to wait a bit to find out what's going on??

Egypt won 4-2 after a pretty convincing display.

Hassan Mostafa, Emad Meteb, Amr Zaki and a Senegalese defender scored for Egypt. We led 2-1 at half time.

Ibrahim Said played in defence and was one of the better players on the night. Very good performance.

Abdel Wehab assisted the first and second goals.

Amr Zaki did very well when he came on and bagged the winner late on with a header from Abo Mosalam's cross. Hossam Hassan impressed. So did Ahmed Eid.

Ahmed Eid 7
