CL - Zamalek 1-1 Esperance

Yet another draw in that weird group...

Will one of the 4 teams finally manage win a game ?

This group will surely go to the wire, ladies and gents.

Anyway, back to the match...

Zamalek didn't play well in the first half (defence was vulnerable, midfield -apart from I.Said- was terrible and the offence was invisible) but I've got to hand it to them, they vastly improved in the second half of play (especially the opening and closing 15 minutes) and wasted a couple of sitters. Jimmy Hamza's chance in the dying moments of the match was incredible. Not that I didn't enjoy it you know...

Silva, who made his debut, didn't get involved much in play. I tend not to judge a player after only ONE match but he doesn't by all means look promising. On the other hand, I liked what I saw of Junior.

The second half was awesome. Both sides hitting the crossbar, both goalies (Abdel Wahed & Tizie) making excellent saves, that red card that was awarded by Koffi and then he took it back (long live africa!) and the squandered opportunities.

I'm really enjoying this CL !

Juventus were relegated to Serie B along with their reputation.

I really don't see any of these four teams taking the title, I think the final will most probably be between the to that will qualify from group A. Its a very dull group with only two scores in 6 games (0-0, 1-1). Some one needs to start winning for God's sake!

Silva was invisible all game, Junior i've seen before with Safax and he's a class player. But Zamalek still have a lot of work to do if they wanna qualify, especially the fact that they have two games to play in Tunisia..

Zamalek failed to impress yet again. Silva looked aweful but Junior was sharp and his passing was decent.

I think Zamalek have a tough task now considering they have two tough away games in the second leg. Plus, I'm quite positive most teams in that group would like to avoid Ahly in the semis and are playing for the top spot, not just a place in the semis.

CAF should really start looking into the refereeing problems. This is the continents top club championship and the referees are just dispicable.
