Bucker the new Zamalek coach!

It's now official that Theo Bucker, the German coach who coached Ittihad and Ismaily in the past, will coach Zamalek for one year starting from this summer!!
What do you guys think of him??!!
I think he is a big loser. Always chokes when it matters the most!

No i think he is the best choice now for them ..technically he is good plus he knows everything about Zamalek and Egyptian league . add to this he is not a costly coach only 12'000 $ per month !

12,000 a month is not costly ? I know its not much as previous coaches but thats still a lot of money, especially in Egypt. No local coaches good enough for Zamalek ?

Not at all.. 12,000$ a month is substandard in Egypt for Ahly, Zamalek, and sometimes Ismaily. I'm also pretty sure ENPPI and Coast Gaurds (being army teams) can pay larger salaries.

Ahly's coach Manuel Jose receives something in the vicinity of 41,000$ per month.

There are pretty decent local coaches, but it's been a while since Ahly or Zamalek had a local coach at the helm of the coaching staff. It mainly has to do with media and fan pressure, not with the capabilities and qualifications of Egyptian coaches.

There's not a single Egyptian coach that can stand the heat of coaching one of the big two.

You sure about that figure ? :eekani: Because I thought he makes around $ 22-24k a month.

Egyptian reports on his salary are contradictory, but this seems to be the most reliable source:

"The contract is reportedly worth $500,000 a year for Jose, which makes him the most expensive coach in the history of Egyptian football."

I just think the money could be better spent on a local coach with the remaining part spent on players or something. Plus, some of these European coaches have no idea what they're doing (a la Tardelli).

Ya but Bokier actually has experience in both Egyptian League and African Competitions so he should be useful for Zamalek. He led Ismaily to the final of both the African CL and Arab CL.

Well in that case its a good choice. Good luck to Zamalek in this year's African CL, they're sure going to need it.
