Transfers thread - latest: Mido back to Zamalek and Ahly win Abdel Fadeel battle

The 2004/2005 Season will officially end with the final game of the Egyptian Cup, and the transfer season begins in preperation for the new season. So we'll keep ourselves updated in here with all the local transfers.

So far, apparently Mokaweloon duo Alaa AbdelGhany and Ahmed Hossam have signed for Zamalek.

Also words spread that Ahly signed Baladeya forward Mostada Gaafar

Ahmed Hossam surely is a class player. He's just the player that they need to strengthen that weak right flank of theirs, and they got him on a free so it's a steal for sure.

I was impressed with Alaa Abdel Ghany against Merikh in the CAF Cup, but he's a midfielder and they have loads of midfielders. Don't know where they'll field him.

As for Mostafa Gaafar, I really hope it's only a silly rumor because frankly he's shiiiiit.

We're pretty close to signing Masry's Ghanian midfielder, Akouty Mensah. Now that would be a fine purchase no diggity no doubt.

Actually Akouty is really class, would defintely be the ideal replacement if Shawky moves abroad. This man has a shot ive never seen before. You would never expect it, the ball would be stuck to his feet and all of a sudden a rocket is launched. Hope we could finish a deal with him.

According to ahly.com, Asmant El Suez's right back Ahmed Fawzy signed for Ahly. No more details given.

Yeah for real im getting the same images. I dont see why we need a right back if we already have Islam and Barakat also playing there. I think this means Sayed Figo is on his way out with Radwan, but id rather give the chance to a youngster like El Halawany.

Next up is Mozambique striker Leonardo who will be loaned out to another first division team so that the BOD could see if he's any good.

Ahmed El Sayed on his way out to Harras El Hedoud.

No thats a different Ahmed Hossam. The one your reffering to is Mido who is currently at Tottenham. This is another young one, plays as a back right.

Ahmed Fawzy is a good player and a good substitution for ElShater in my opinion. He scored Suez Cement's second goal against Zamalek in the first leg. He is totally different than Ahmed Radwan guys.

I think Hossam Zenhom was also a good player at Arab Contractors.

He's a solid defensive midfielder, a very energetic one that never stops running. If you can remember our game in Portsaid last season, he single handedly contained Abo Treika and prevented him from doing anything at all. We drew 0-0 in that game, btw.

As Ahlawy mentioned beforehand, he has a powerful right foot and has scored many goals for Masry either from open play or free kicks.

I expext us to sign him for cash plus Sayed Abdel Hafeez, who I like so much but he's way too injury prone and we have Barakat and Cheetos in his position too.

Rumor has it that Zamalek have signed ex Masry defender Amr el Desouky for an undisclosed fee. He was playing in the Turkish league.

As for Ahmed Fawzy, he's young and has potential. That's all I can say about him, surely not a BIG signing but we have to make minor signings as well because long term planning is essential.

First off welcome to XT mate ! I can see that you have a great taste when it comes to the teams that you support. Do pay us a visit at the Inter forum sometime.

Hossam Zenhom never played for Arab Contractors, he moved to Zamalek from Sharqeya lel dokhan (what does that translate to in English, Sharqeya smoke ? ) but A.C were interested in him as well and he actually signed a pre-contract with them, but then he chose to play for Zamalek and A.C's B.O.D. accepted his request.

Ahmed Hossam is another kettle of fish altogether. Mark my words he'll become the best right back in Egypt in two years time.

Let's hope Gilberto beats him.
I also hope that Shawqi stays for at least one more year. A midfield of Shawqi and Akouti will easily rule Africa!! :eekani:

Gilberto is a special player, he can outplay anyone.

Akouty AND Shawqy ? That sounds way too defensive, IMO.

Btw, here's a pic of Akouty Mensah.

P.S. Thanks for the translation.

I really wanna see Akouty in the red jersey next season, even if Shawky is staying (although I would prefer him to move abroad if we do agree terms with Akouty's local club)

About Ahmed Hossam, I think he's going to be Zamalek's best signing for the next season cause this man has alot of potential. Im really sad he left AC cause he was one of the main factors of their success, but I hope they can do good without him.

Another A.C player has joined Zamalek. 21 year-old striker Islam Shukry has signed a three year deal with them.

Damn, now A.C won't find any decent players to field in the CAF Cup...

And Zamalek are SO friggin stupid, as A.C's trio are all cup-tied so they can't take part in the African Champions League.

I've also read today that Ahmed Radwan has joined Suez Cement. Well good luck to him...
