Ahly Official Thread 2004/2005 Season

Well it really looks like a bright season this year with all the stars we added to our squad. Barakat, Islam, El-Nahas, AbdelWehab, Castillo, Ramy Adel, all brilliant players. Plus the fact that Bilal is staying is without a doubt a mojor boast for the squad. I think no one will accept anything other than winning the league, I mean a 4 year absence is just too much.

The team flew 2 days ago to Germany for the camp that will see too friendlies with second division German teams, before going to spain to face Osasuna. Then we'll come back to Cairo to get ready for the start of the new season (without the international players).

All in all I'm expecting a really bright season InshaAllah and i see success in every single aspect.

Well, if we don't win the league with such a squad, then we should dream abt it in the future

I am hoping for a treble InshALLAH with this squad

Hope we dont suffer like AC Zamalek of mid 90s though

Jose should have no complaints though we do not have enough depth in fwd line

I really doubt are case is similar to that of Zamalek in the 90's. Zamalek had a week board that couldn't control all their stars and thus many problems occured. But we have a very stable BOD who will be able to control the whole team.

I hope Ramy Adel takes over Shady cause he's pure crap! But I'm not sure if Jose will play a 4-4-2 or a 5-2-2-1 formation. The latter would look like this:

-------------------------------Sherif------------------------------
-----------------------------El-Nahas-----------------------------
----------Ramy(Wael)--------------------------A.El-Sayed---------
---El-Shater---------------------------------------Wahab(AbuM)---
----------------Shawky(Hady)---------Hassan(Gilberto)-------------
----------Barakat(Reyad)-------------------Trieka(Castillo)---------
--------------------------Bilal(Met'eb-Hosny)-----------------------

That would be my favourite line-up, it's just too hype for any team to challenge.

Not bad at all ya Ahlawy!

I would hope we get rid of both Shady then Wael soon !

Too bad there are no good CBs in Egypt to buy aslan though.

Mot`b should definetly be given a chance with Belal but Hosny should be a 3rd choice n I m expecting him to leave next yr inshALLAH.

Of course on paper we have an excellent squad but what i really fear is the lack of harmony in the team. Players need time to adapt to each other and we got what ? 11 new players ?

Anyway, Shady shouldn't start and we should use a 4 man defence.

Think about it. Three of these players already played with each other before, so its really only AbdelWahab (who already played with some players at the NT and gelled in the squad very quickly) Rami Adel, and Castillo. So I really doubt that will be a problem.

Plus the camp in Germany and the two friendlies there, then the Osasuna game in Spain, Im pretty sure the squad will be perfect together by then.

InshALLAH it would be not too much to ask for a treble with a deep roster like that.

Any news on the Arab CL decision yet?

Rumors say that Ahly will indeed participate in the tournament as ART are really desprate to have all the Egyptian teams, especially Ahly.

Today was the first pre-season friendly in the German camp against Amature side Brown Gecler.

Brown Gecler 0 - 5 Ahly

Emad Met'eb 1x
Gilberto 1x
Barakat 1x
Abutrieka 2x

Its really good to see that Emad is back to scoring ways. Hope he has a good season this year. Also Barakat scoring in his first match is good. I havent seen a complete match report yet so I dont know the line-ups, but apparently 22 players took part in the game as everyone got subbed.

Next friendly is against Hanover City on Saturday.

Eshta bel3asal awi keda

InshALLAH we see 5 goals in official games too n really nice mix of scorers as we have a lot of scoring players but my only concern is defense so far hopefully Jose find the right mix in the german trip.

Thanks for the updates on Arab CL ya Ahlawy n I hope ART does intervene!

Do you know what will be the first official game of the yr and vs who?

I'm not that concerned with our backline. If Emad el-Nahas can rediscover his form at Ismaily then we'd have a pretty strong defence. Wael Gom3a and Ramy Adel aren't bad either.

As for the Arab CL, i don't want us to participate in this crap, worthless tournament. It sucks, BIG TIME!

We'll face Suez Cement on day 1 of the league on the 17th of September in Suez.

Thanx a lot for the info Nerazzuri.

I agree about Nahas and Ramy but thing is Jose will always play wonder-kid Shady for some reason so that is my concern.

Arab CL is not bad at all if you look at quarterfinals and beyond you got top teams from Tunis, Maroc and ofcourse other fellow Egyptian teams also the $$$$ is not bad at all especially with the amount we spent this yr. Untill we get our own Ibramovich we have to participate in such things I reckon.

I agree we should participate, I mean we didn't buy all these players only for the league. The ACL is ten times more stronger the the African champions league, and you get better money too. Plus I think we now have a very strong team mashaAllah, and it's a good chance we participate and try to win the cup so we could be ontop of arab teams once more.

After the two friendlies, it seems that Ahly will probably look like this:

-----------------------El-Hadary/Ekramy-------------------------
-El-Shater-----El-Nahas----------------Shady----------A.Wehab-
--------------------Shawky--------Hassan----------------------
--------Barakat--------------A.Trieka------------Castillo---------
--------------------------Bilal/Met'eb----------------------------
