All discussions related to the NT, and qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, belongs here.

Feel free to make any thread name suggestions, I used the first one that came to mind.

I saw this on a website regarding our group:

"Group H: Belgium made out like bandits at the draw. They got Bosnia, who was the weakest team in Pot 2. They got Greece, who was the weakest team in Pot 3. And they got Estonia, among the weakest in Pot 4. Belgium is one of the best teams in the world, and we give them an over 96% chance to top the group. We really expect them to clean house, and didn’t run a single simulation where they finished worse than 2nd. This is bad news for the other teams in the group, as failing to take any points against Belgium will really hurt qualifying for the playoffs. We expect the team that misses the playoffs to come from this group."

Thanks MC

Anyone else worried that our next generation won't even be close to this one? I remember the U21 generation with Ibisevic, Dzeko, Ibricic and the likes that got to a EURO U21 playoff and looked threatening, we always seemed to have players coming out of somewhere. Right now the only player I can think of that's even half of that is Armin Hodzic.

BTW: Anyone know what happened with DJ Bungi? His NSBiH project was awesome.

Armin Hodzic, Deni Milosevic, Srdan Grahovac, Cimirot (coming back from injury), Radovac (if he gets a transfer somewhere), Duljević (rumors of him going to Gala), Modic, Krunic, Tabakovic ( if we call him up he may pick us).

I included Grahovac and Krunic in there because they have yet played for the "A" team.

GK: Begovic (28), Buric (28), Sehic (27)
LB: Kolasinac (22), Kvesic (25), Letic (22)
CB: Sunjic (26), Cocalic (27), Anicic (26)
CB: Bicakcic (25), Zukanovic (28), Arslanagic (22)
RB: Vranjes (26), Dilaver (24), Pavelic (22)
MC: Pjanic (25), Vrancic (26), Cimirot (22)
DM: Besic (23), Hadzic (26), Grahovac (23)
LW: Lulic (29), Hadzic (24), Susic (23)
AMC: Stilic (28), Milicevic (29), Krunic (22)
RW: Hajrovic (24), Visca (25), Suljic (24)
ST: Dzeko (29), Djuric (25), Hodzic (21)

This list doesn't even consider a lot of the younger talents (18-21), but I think this bunch plus a few random gems, and we should be set for the next two qualifying cycles. The fact that this potential starting lineup has 5 players 25 and under is just amazing.

All I have to say at this time, beware of the wounded animal(Bosnia). Bosnia will take a lot from the Euro 2016 qualifiers. Harsh lesson we had to learn. Not taking anything away from Ireland's results, but we should have closed it out.

The key to these qualifiers is starting them with a home win vs Estonia. This is priority number 1 for Mesa.

I really hope we make some changes. The list above from MC looks great. I'm so tired of seeing Lulic, Medunjanin, Salihovic, Ibisevic (especially the first two). Time for some new blood.

In general, I'd like to see this:

Begovic
Vranjes - Cocalic - Bicakcic - Kolasinac
Besic - Pjanic
Hajrovic - Krunic - Hadzic
Dzeko

In terms of these upcoming qualifiers, I'm feeling confident of at least reaching the baraz again (lol). Estonia and Cyprus aren't threats for a top two spot, and if Greece continues their current form, we can hope more for reaching first than worrying about falling down to third.

I'm also happy about the fact that we get to play Russia in two friendlies over the course of this campaign. It will give Bazdarevic (or whoever is our manager) a chance to further integrate this new generation. We will get a chance to cap these youngsters who may have not appeared in qualification games up until that point, while at the same time giving us a chance to spot a gem in the middle of qualifiers (perhaps someone plays extremely well in a specific formation, for example).

Good article here and analysis of our national team:

BTW next March Edin Dzeko will be 30 years old!!! Should we go to Russia he will be 32, potentially his final major tournament.

One of the most depressing feelings around, that and knowing we won't grace the European football fields for another 5 years at least...

Regarding playoffs, the worst 2nd placed team for the WC will be eliminated without playoff. Also interesting to note that for EURO 2020 qualifiers there won't be playoffs but it will be done via the newly implemented Nations League...

Who remembers this awesome feeling??!

Let's hope we can relive the moment come June 2018.

Yes, that's probably true, but the effect of qualifying for our first ever Euro straight after our first ever World Cup would've been huge.

IVICA OSIM O ISPADANJU IZ BARAŽA Nije ovo smak svijeta, ali jeste dobra šamarčina -

Kako dobaciti do Rusije i do Svjetskog prvenstva?

Treba li nam smjena generacija?

After watching this today, how do you rate Bazdarevic?
