I am going to have to go for Slovenia. I believe they have a few Bosnians on that team if I'm not mistaken... Post your team that you will be rooting for!

Argentina, Spain and Japan, with soft spots for Slovenia, New Zealand, Algeria, Brazil, Mexico and Ghana.

It's good to spread the love :smileani:

I've grown up supporting the azzurri so they'll always come second to me. Besides them I'll be rooting for Slovenia.

Spain (always like to support them since they play great footy)
Ivory Coast (because of Vahid)
Slovenia (under-dogs)

Now that we've failed to qualify, I won't be rooting for anyone.

You know what? I agree with your statement, I used to get concerned that I would of missed some good matches because of the games clashing with my work schedules, but considering the appalling enviroment in which the tournament will be played, the way in which some teams cheated to qualify and the increased commercialisation of FIFA, I won't be that concerned on missing matches even though I used to watch every/most WC games from 1998 to 2006. At the most I'll probably watch a few group games, the North Korea matches because the mainstream Media will be intrested in any possible defections and the semis + the final.

That being said, I hope these teams do well during the WC in SA:

Ivory Coast
Germany
England
Chile
South Korea

Couldn't help but raise a smile at this :smileani: Nothing like a televised defection or two to spice up a football tournament :dielaugh:

Now that we failed to qualify by topping the best national team in the world Spain OR beating potential World Cup winners Portugal, I won't be rooting for anyone. Is that what you meant?

I'll be rooting for: USA, Slovenia, and Uruguay

Spain - For all the obvious reasons and then to be able to say we were in the same group as the eventual world champs.
Portugal - Similar to above, but with a slightly more bitter taste in my mouth.
Ivory Coast - Vaha, duh.
Slovenija - Our former neighbors and huge underdogs.

Beyond that, I think England will be interesting to watch. Serbia too.

Serbia could have a fantastic tournament under Antic, ditto for the Coast under Halilhodzic. Stacked with talent, these two teams.
