Bosnian Teplice and Bosnians in Czech Republic

Admir Ljevakovic & Samir Merzic

I think it's time to separate both Edin's thread and the one where I bring news about Bosnian lads starring in Teplice.

So far this season...

Samir Merzic - Usualy plays as left back, sometimes helped on the right side, imo right now our best defender. Teplice brought in winter another side back, so now it's going to be challenge of three guys for two spots. As long as Samir plays the way he did before, I have no worries for him. He also earned his first cap for your NT, I like this guy a lot, one who gives always 100% on the field.

Admir Ljevakovic - Started season with some, very bad performance for B team, then after our best anchor midfielder got injured, he got called up and made his stellar debut in first team against league's best team Sparta Prague. Since then, with excpetion of last two matches, stayed in the starting lineup. Very strong on the ball, fighter, but often finds himself out of position, which is suicidal for a defensive midfielder. Very good player overally, but still needs to develop certain parts of his play.

Arven Avdija - Central midfielder, joined us in summer, and plays only in B team, according to guys who attend matches of this team, he isn't bad, good skills with ball, he has the "sense of play", but very bad physical and in general is not ready for first team yet (consider that B team plays 4th highest division in Czech). From what I have gathered, he missed more than a year for some weird injury or whatever, hopefully in the future I will see more of him, so I can share with you my own opinion.

Aidin Mahmutovic - Young striker, considered as very talented in here, nowadays on loan in Usti (club, where also Edin was loaned to), I know even less about him though. This season he earns here and there appearence for his team, I beleive in summer he'll come back to Teplice, and will be given his chance, although there is also possiblity of prolonging his loan at Usti.

Pavel do you know of any other BiH players in the Czech league? It seems weird that for some reason they all come to Telpice, Or maybe in the second division there are BiH players?

I will have a look, to see if there are any more Bosnians around in Czech. Although I don't expect them to be many, at least not in second division, it's purely full of czechs, some slovaks and very few shitty brazilians.

As for the ones in Teplice it's simple, we had a scout who had great relationship with some people there in Bosnia, and he brought us Dzeko. He left (the scout), but there is still very good relationship between club and those people from Bosnia.

Teplice is doing good in Czech league, 3rd with same points as Sparta Praha, 5 points behind leaders Slavia.

Pavel should feel free to correct me if I`m wrong but I think there is atleast five more bosnian in the czech Gambrinus league (top division). Anes Haurdic and Muris Mesanovic should be at FK Jablonec while Avdija Vrsajevic plays for Sparta Praha. SK Kladno also got the two bosnian brothers Mirza and Haris Zinhasović on their youth-/B-team. Might even have forgotten someone.

Has to be Merzic I think, although former Zeljo- and Celik-player Vrsajevic (21) wouldnt be at Sparta Praha unless he was considered "something special".

According to Sparta Prahas website they seem to have loaned Vrsajevic (pic) out to Kladno for the rest of the season.

I think Sparta Praha believe its better to loan him out to one of the weaker teams in the Grambinus league to gain experience at the highest level, rather than playing for Spartas reserve team like he would have if he had stayed in Praha. Seems like they consider him one for the future, and according to Kladnos website he has played 12 out of 17 matches this season. Based on the information on Transfermarkt.de its difficult to figure out whether he is at Kladno on loan or on permanent basis.

05/06 01.2006 Zeljeznicar Sarajevo - Celik Zenica

I read this as Zelik got 1 000 000 € when they sold him to Sparta Prag in July 2007, then Kladno paid 700.000 € for him one month later only for him to be expected to return to Sparta Praha in July 2008. Weird.

I just figured they would loan him out to the second division. He seems like a good player. If they did pay 700k for him, just to have him for a year seems pretty odd, but id he is that good of a player it might make some sense.

I'm going to look around all the names mentioned.
Imo the values in Vrsajevic case are pure nonsense, I hardly remember when any club in czech paid for a player more than 200 000 - 300 000€, surely not for completely unknown guy, and surely not Kladno, who are all but wealthy club. I'm sure he was there only on loan, as it's the way Sparta works, to buy million players, and then send half of them away on loan.

And to add small example, Teplice paid for Dzeko 50 000€.

Haurdic and Mesanovic, I checked website of Jablonec, and there is no mention of neither of them at all.

Vrsajevic, Sparta bought him in summer 2007 and immediately sent on loan to Kladno, he played there so far 237 minutes in 12 matches, only once as starter though, and scored one goal.

Both Zinhasović guys are in the B team of Kladno (4th div), defender Haris played 4 times so far, attacker Mirza 9 times and scored one goal.

Also, to answer the question higher, who is the best Bosnian playing in Czech... I think it has to be Samir Merzic, as he is the onlyone who has became regular starter for his team. But I believe with some time, it's going to be Ljevakovic, who I can see easily become best central/defensive midfielder in the league, as on the contrary to most local DMs, he can also play football.

They do figure here though:

http://www.fkjablonec.cz/web/cz/a-dorost/soupiska/

Dont know what "Soupiska A dorost" means (youth team perhaps), but both of them were born in 1990.

Mesanovic:
http://www.fkjablonec.cz/web/cz/hrac.../?playerId=471

.. seems to have scored 13 goals in 14 matches so far this season and are by far the teams best goalscorer.

Havrdic:
http://www.fkjablonec.cz/web/cz/hrac.../?playerId=506

.. has started 15 matches.

Both of them are currently playing in Ceska liga dorostu. Whatever that is.
