The MAKADAM from Euro 2008

Well, anything related to our quest of getting to Euro 2008 goes here.

This is definetley an interesting time for our NT.

Will there be any changes at NSBIH?
Should Baka stay?
Will the old guard finally retire?
Who are the new players that will wear the NT colours?
Who will be the new captain?
Will we get the likes of Kucukovic playing for us? (or could this turn into another Ibrahimovic case)
is this a rebuilding period, or a re-tooling?

also, be interesting to hear what you think more ideal groups would be for us. We are stuck in the 4th pot again however, so it wont be easy, thats for sure.

Ideal group in my opinion would be

Greece-clearly the worst of all pot1 teams
Poland- solid team,but nothing spectacular
Slovakia-pretty good team, but the worst team in pot3
BiH
Iceland- had a horrible wc2006 qualifiers
Cyprus-easy 6pts
Luxembourg-no comment

I think the best group would be:

Greece (Worst in pot1)
Poland (Rather them than lets say...Romania)
Slovakia (Good team but I belive we can take them, especially at home)
BiH (Whats BiH?)
Estonia (We lost to them in the friendly, but I think qualifications would be another story)
Armenia (Belarus, Cyprus, N.Ireland, Moldova can be pain in the ass, Armenia didnt show so much in WC06-Q)
Luxembourg - Worst European team in WC qualifications

1.Greece They don't have the same magic as the other teams up there, but they are also really good, and would be a very hard team. But IMO they lost the "magic" after 2004 and hasn't played great football lately. If this continoues, and we play like we have done since 2003 (stabile team and solid playing) I think we would have a fair chance against them, especially at home.
The other teams in this pot are fantastic and plays very beautiful football, I fear them all But we could take some of them maybe?

2.Turkey Again, a team that isn't even close to be what they was in the last couple of years. I think Turkey is a good team but they didn't qualify to EC2004, loosing to Latvia (cmon, I am sure we could have taken them) and then barely getting into the play-off to this WC2006. Because of this, I think we have a good chance. But a good team. Of those who I don't want to meet, it's Romania/Croatia. We have had problems with Romania in the past and they are really good IMO. Croatia is a neighbour, neighbours in the qualify..ooo .

3.Norway. Good team that has finally started to play some good football after EC2004 and the switch too Ĺge Hareide. They have some good players and really isn't in my opinion the same team as the one we met in the EC2004, much better now. I would say BiH and Norway are at the same level, some norwegians and bosnians might disagree. Neverthless , a solid team but we can take them if we do our job good. I don't want to have SiCG or Ukraine in our group.

4.BiH

5. Iceland, we have skills and play to beat them. I'd be sad if our team, that drawd Spain twice wouldn't be able to win agains't them.

6.Cyprus, small nation. The pot speaks for it's self, unless some suprises I don't see this a hard opponent.

7. Luxembourg. Nice country but the football NT....

But I see that many important players will retire soon so as I am not updated on the "talent front", but I hope some new youngsters will start playing and showing, a younger, but still very solid BiH NT. If anybody can post who they think will be good new players for the NT, please do.

It also depends on what will happen with our NT now, we might be as good as Norway now...but when the qualifiers are about to start in a year we maybe have 5 new players or even more.

Well, we have not had much success playing at Kosevo, so I dont know how good that is for the NT. But, its always positive for the country to have good venues to host games. The pics look great.

Im not 100% sure of what he means, but it sounds good
