---------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not looking forward to these matches match, but since we have no shot of qualifying (of getting the top 2 spots) hopefully we can try for third place and that will help us qualifying for 2008. We need to at least have some hope after these games. So I think we need to see some good new players marking their territory, or younger players that have already played for the NT being very strong. Its important since we have a lot of older players that we wont be able to rely on after this qualifying.

Our squad and my opinions :

Tolja (SW Bregenz) - with Hasagic out he's the obvious choice
Stojkic (NK Zagreb) - not sure, don't know much about him but why wuold we call him up if he doesn't have our passport?
Brasnic (NK Zepce) - who the hell is he?
Spahic (FC Shinnik Yaroslavl) - deserved call up
Milenkovic (K. Lierse SK) - i expect a lot from him
Papac (FK Austria Wien) - he's a regular nowadays
Konjic (Derby County FC) - about bloody time
Vidic (NK Zrinjski) - deserved call based on last performance
Berberovic (FK Sarajevo) - pitar, wtf???
Salihamidzic (FC Bayern München) - can't go without him
Beslija (KRC Genk) - he's a whizz, deserved call up
Grujic (FC Alania Vladikavkaz) - is he playing any minutes?
Grlic (MSV Duisburg) - Good, off the bench player
Bajramovic (SC Freiburg) - can't go without him
Barbarez (Hamburger SV) - the pillar of our team
Rahimic (PFC CSKA Moskva) - about bloody time, i just hope everything clears up between him and Baka
Music (Modena FC) - he better not get injured, we've missed him
Bolic (Malatyaspor) - some things never change
Baljic (Konyaspor) - some things never change
Misimovic (VfL Bochum 1848) - bright future!!!
Halilovic (NK Varteks) - impressive at Varteks so let's see what he does

Reasonable opinions Bosanac but I currently have no confidence in our national team. We are an absolute joke and have not had a proper national side since just after the aggression on our country. Whether this is due to others factors other than just quality is open to discussion but I think Sliskovic should not even be there and not even been there in the first place as there is many other solutions available. I mean come on, half of these players are no better the players in the Bosnian second division who do not get a chance due to corruption and the crap that goes on.

Some of you guys are being really harsh on your NT, not just in this thread but in general.

Sure, your FA is phucked up, join the gang, I'm beginning think this is a required characteristic in the Balkans. But just look at how your NT has grown over the last couple of years. Or should I say, since Sliskovic arrived. In the last qualifiers, luck (or lack of) decided your fate. You were as good as any of the teams in your group. I had the chance to watch your ties against both Norway and Denmark and I was extremely impressed with how passionate and organized your side was, despite only having a couple of big names.
Now in these qualifiers you've been unlucky with the draw. We have four quality sides in our group and one more side that's surprising everyone. Did you honestly expect to just breeze through this group? Cause if you did, you need a reality check. So far you've done as well as I realistically expected from you, except for the big blow-out versus Belgium.

Bosnia is on the rise again after a lot of uncertain years which were for a big part determined by factors that had nothing to do with sports, sadly. But better days have arrived, I believe you guys will eventually get to the final stage of a major tournament. Hell, if it makes it any easier, even Holland, England and France have missed out on big tournaments, so as they say, anything is possible. If your FA would only start scouting abroad, you'd have an even larger pool of talents to pick from.

Now go out and beat Spain! :fero: (or tie them )

welcome to the forum Hordas, glad to finally see an identifiable rival

Drulo, that's a real 'Braveheart' like speech there... you might just be giving me hope again man (Kad mozes ti imati nadu za Bosnu sto nebi i ja?)

I agree that Baka has changed our NT (compared to the crap we were in say 3 years ago) but he can't take them any further, he is constantly involved in personal fueds with players and is influenced by managers on who to pick for the NT.

Example: no Hajduk players were called for the upcoming 2 matches!! Coincidence?? - i think not!! When he was at Hajduk, Stimac exerted influence to parade the Hajduk players on the national stage (so he could maybe sell them) and so Baka called up 3 of them now that they split up and aren't good mates not one of those players is called up. It's possible that one might have dropped in form but how can 3 Hajduk players lose their NT call ups coincidently after Baka gets the boot from Hajduk? I mean he praised them ilke there hell in order to justify his decision to call them... what happened?

I like Sliskovic but he needs to go

Looking at it realistically Blatnjak is the only BiH player from Hajduk that deserves a call up. Mesic,Turkovic and Damjanovic arent NT material. Good post by Drulo as well, I think we expected too much after the sensational Euro 2000 qualifiers.

This group is a lot tougher than your other group and I can only agree (probably for like the 2000th time) with Drulo and you did control the game against us but what I felt you lacked was a killer instinct for all your ball posession there didn't seem to be a huge threat.

From NSBiH

Out so far:
Konjic
Baljic
Rahimic
Bolic

soooo whos next, Music or Salihamidzic?

Bosanac, it was Dule who said that, not me. Well, it's nice....hmmm, actually, no...it's weird knowing I'm always on your mind. Makes me feel uneasy.

Seriously, though, I do agree with the statement made about the lack of a killer instinct.

I agree with both Dule and myself.

I think its time that we give Ibisevic a try. He deserves it.
Too bad Rahimic didn't want to show up, we can really use him.

Excellent that Bolic is out! Now Zvjezdan Misimovic can start the game and finally we are off with Bolic..... Shame about Rahimic, but Sliskovic is such a jurk I cannot believe what is happening, Sliskovic talks too much!

If Sliskovic visits this forum I have a message for him: Get your ****ing act together!!!

Sliskovic has lost it, and it especially shows with the Rahimic fiasco.

Long while ago he said that he wanted 4 strong central midfielders, that it was crucial to have. Searching for that, being so desperate to get that he freaken called Nermin Sabic to give him a try to see if he could be part of those 4. Of course, Sabic failed miserably and was not called again. He now has a Uefa Cup Champ., he has a player who plays regularly and is thought of pretty damn highly..yet, that, he doesn't need. He comes out and disses this player, while Grujic, a player that does not play regularly, and is not in that class (at least has not shown yet) gets a bigger oppurtunity.

He continues to break rules and things he set out when he became the manager. That is the big reason we have started to fail.

I dont care if your ideals dont work, but at least have them. I can respect someone that follows something that they say to a tee, even if it may not work. I cant respect someone that changes and breaks things they have said.
