August 18th: France vs BIH from Rennes (Friendly)

Thoughts?

Who should be called?

What do you think the result will be?

Who should the starting 11 be?

What formation?

and one thing I'm excited about is..will Ibisevic be called up for this game? He wants to play in it, but its up to Sliskovic. Sliskovic wants a roster that will pretty much be the one we will use in Qualifying..so it will be interesting to see. He's kind of come out of nowhere though, and if he signs a contract with PSG before that date...I think good chance he will be called.

-----------------FORMATION---------------

-----Bolic (Ibisevic)---------- Misimovic (Blatnjak)

---------------- Barbarez---------------

----Baljic--------Bajramovic--------Salihamidzic

----Music------Papac----Konjic------Beslija

-----------------Hasagic---------------------

Bench:
Skoro
Blatnjak
Biscevic
Grujic
Hrgovic
Ibisevic
Spahic
Grlic
Crnogorac
Ramovic

I'd definetley like to see Ibisevic and Blatnjak get a shot upfront.

In the middle we already know the players: Grujic, Hrgovic, Biscevic, Grlic are all good subs.

At the back, I want to give Crnogorac and Spahic a chance. We need to test new players in central defence, Konjic wont be around much longer and we lost Hibic already.

And if Ramovic has his papers ready, be nice to test him in net.

Overall, I like that lineup though and the guys on the bench.

I see a draw in this game, probably, 1-1.

I think Skoro's form has earned him a possible place in the starting line up. However i don't think Baljic should start (maybe come off the bench), i stand by the fact that your name should not guarantee you a spot but your club performances and Baljic has just started playing serious games after nearly 2 whole years in the wilderness.

Anyway i'm sure Baka will know what he's doing, i have lots of confidence in him.

If Ibisevic gets a chance, that is 5 strikers, and IMO there is no certainty on who will be starting, or at least there shouldn't be certainty.

He has a lot of hard decisions to make.

When it comes to Baljic, I agree Sliskovic should not pick the team because of the names, that is why we were crap before Sliskovic came. Looks like Baljic will be in the starting 11 for Galatasary though, so that will be good for him.

Actually today, I will get to see the Galatasaray/Porto game, so I'll see how he looks.

I thought Beslija is a striker.
Prediction?
Everything is possible. Bosnia has a solid team, they might as well win.

Safet Sušić, najbolji bh. fudbaler svih vremena

"Živim život i čekam pravu ponudu"

SUŠIĆ: U Sarajevu vrijeme veoma brzo prolazi. Nijednog trenutka nisam sam.

Reprezentacija BiH 18. ovog mjeseca igra prijateljsku utakmicu protiv "trikolora" u Renu.

oh, no not him..some guys with a similar last name played for Slaven Belupo years ago.
what about Saranovic? does he have a spot on the NT, I see you have many good strikers so probably not, he is playing very well for Kamen Ingrad. Former Sarajevo player and you also have another good striker, Bosko Peraica, he had good season at Cibalia but when they were relegated he left the club to join an Austrian club. Admira...he used to play for Posusje.

Edin Saranovic has 8 caps I beleive with our NT. He was used 3/4 years ago for WC Qualifying...not as a starter, but as a sub, that sometimes came in.

At this point, with so much depth upfront..I would not count on him ever getting a call again.

Misimovic, Skoro, Ibisevic, Blatnjak, that Sehic guy possibly, and Bolic has about 2 yrs in him.

Well, to get on my national team, you rather have to be:

1) Young player with good or better potential

or

2) older player, that has accomplished a lot and continues to play on respected club, also plays regularly.

Saranovic fits into another category..a player that is already older, but has STILL not proven he has enough quality for NT materia.

Selecting those types of players was exactly why we were such a horrible NT awhle ago. We had guys like Akrapovic, Piplica, Hota, Kapetanovic etc We had a lot of players that were old, yet they had never in their career proven to have quality..better to give the young guys with actual potential a shot...not only will you get effort from them, because they want to prove themselves, but chances are they have much more quality.

Sliskovic came in got rid of all those old guys with no quality, left the ones with it (Bolic, Barbarez, Konjic, Salihamidzic, Baljic) then added regualr playing time for other younger guys (Grujic, Bajramovic, Beslija, now Skoro, probably Ibisevic)

I think there are some big no-no's when it comes to fudbal, and one killer is playing players out of their position. I think when you do that, you are just asking for it.

I dont think Grujic plays DC. Also, Spahic cant even find a club, or at least is not playing..while Besljia is playing pretty damn well with Genk, so dont see why Spahic.

The rest though, I agree with.

I'm with Manijak on this one, you've got Grujic in a position where he ain't comfortable and players with no minutes under their belt should not be called up for NT games.

I know that Grujic never played the stoper but I strongly believe that he would play that position better than Milenkovic; he replaced Hibic on that spot.

Popis pozvanih igrača: Kenan Hasagić (Gaziantepspor), Almir Tolja (SW Bregenz), Nermin Šabić (Vatai Changchun), Asim Šehić (Pula), Emir Spahić (Schinnik), Elvir Bolić (Genčlerbirligi), Zlatan Bajramović (Freiburg), Dragan Blatnjak (Hajduk), Mirsad Bešlija (Genk), Saša Papac (Austria Beč), Hasan Salihamidžić (Bayern), Sergej Barbarez (Hamburger SV), Vladan Grujić (Koeln), Elvir Baljić (Galatasaray), Zvjezdan Misimović (Bochum), Ivica Grlić (Duisburg), Muhamed Konjić (Derby County), Vedin Musić (Modena), Gradimir Crnogorac (Sloboda), Branimir Bajić (Partizan).

Abit dissapointed Ibisevic was not called, however Sehic was called and Bajic. Also, Nermin Sabic getting a call once again, no idea the reason behind that. Skoro, not getting called.

I think the deal with Ibisevic may be that Sliskovic knows his quality, and how good he is, so there is no reason to test him, instead, he needs to see how this Sehic guy is, also has to test Blatnjak.

Anyways, its nice to see that he is thinking about eventual replacements for Konjic, and some of the older guys on the team.

Some quotes from Sliskovic in the press conference where he announced the players called up:

Branimir Bajic
Quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some really questionable moves IMO.

Like this Bajic guy..we have called him 2-3 times, and he failed to show up. I dont know why he is on his knees begging these players when its clear that they dont want to play for BIH, and they are not even that good.

Bringing Sabic back...I dont know about that.

Skoro is playing regular minutes, is doing really well, yet he is not called, and Misimovic gets called when is warming the bench at Bochum.

Grujic is not playing regularly at a 1st division side in Germany, yet he gets called???

Ibisevic has played more minutes in 1 game than Grujic the whole last season, and is already at PSG, possibly even starting games..and no call.

What about Music? He cant seem to find a new club, and is not going to stay with Modena..so dont know why he is called.

He is breaking some of his own rules.

Anyways, we will see how this goes, but I am not impressed.

I'm with you on most of your points.
Music and Sabic are really worrying me, i like them both but Music isn't playing anywhere and Sabic is doing his trade in China (i question China's club football quality)

Bajic might be a good move but i ain't sire as i don't know much about him. Maybe one of the grobars from xtratime can shed some light on his abilities. But i firmly stand by not forcing or begging anybody to play for BiH.

I am shocked that Skoro hasn't been called up but i am not fussed that Ibisevic hasn't, maybe it's better if he plays in the U21's for a while, we don't want to take all the talent away.

Somebody here predicted that Sehic will get a call, i don't know anything about him and hopefully it was a right move. Pula must be on cloud nine about that move!

Please enter a password for your user account. Note that passwords are case-sensitive. Try to avoid choosing short (like '1'), simple (like 'abcd') and easy to guess passwords (like a name of your favorite team, player, etc)! Complex and long enough passwords, that consists of random string of alphabet and numerical characters, are almost impossible to be stolen and misused.
