Postgame: BIH 1 Denmark 1 FT

BIH fail to make it top place, and more importantly will not go to Portugal.

The Danes scored 1st, and it looked liked it may be over. The team looked nervous and disorganized early on and I think that is the reason the Danes scored.

In the 38th minute however Bolic heads in the ball to tie the game. Bosnia at this point playing much better.

Late in the game the team just looked too tired and didn't have enough to get the winner.

Unfortunate we didn't make it, but I gotta say they played unbelievable in thsi qualification.

If someone was to tell you we would be fighting for 1st against Romania, Denmark and Norway in this group, people would have told you that you were crazy.

This draw may in the FIFA Rankings put us in the top 50 soccer countries, so at least something good out of this draw.

Just some feelings about the game:

It is obvioulsy VERY dissapointing.

At first I had lost all hope, but when Bolic scored, I thought we could still do it.

We just ran out of gas.

The Danes knew they needed the draw, and stayed back and countered really well even after we scored.

I am dissapointed about the loss as I said, but I dont think I will stay dissapointed for a very long time, even after a few hours now, I feel much better.

We have to realize, we were in a VERY difficult group.

We have to realize beating Denmark at their home, and drawing them is a good achievement.

We have to realize beating Norway was a great accomplishment as well.

I really think it could have gone either way.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really think we have a good team right now, and we will only improve with more games played, but I think we will continue getting good results, so going to Germany in 2006 is realistic.

Let's hope for an easier group, we really seem to have no luck concerning the groups.

My BIGGEST worry is about how different our team will look by the start of the next qualification.

Konjic ? Hibic ? Bolic ?

Some key players there.

Will they be there for us next time, and if not, who replaces them, etc.

That is my biggest worry.

Let's not be too sad about this result, we have made a lot of progress, and a lot of people are learning that we are a pretty good soccer country.

Wow, I feel like you guys missed a historic opportunity here...too bad really, such a shame. And instead Norway goes through to the playoffs and Denmark has qualified. Well, hopefully you guys can keep it up, keep the coach and go for a WC2006 place. You ended 4th in your group (which means that you'll get another tough group next time most likely) but you were only 2 pts behind the 1st placed team.

I dont think the placings are based on that ?

Its the Fifa Rankings, it would only make sense.

We should have a better place though. Hopefully we get in to at least the 3rd pot.

After the draw against the Danes we will go to top 5o in the World hopefuly.

We will lose spots though because we wont be in Portugal.

Good luck to Bosnia in the future. You had an amazing qualification, and hopefully you will be seeded in the third group for next qualification, so that you will have less really dangerous teams to worry about.

Well...that's a truth with modifications. Apart from women's handball, we have never really been either a hockey or a handball nation. We are probably the most successful nation in the Winter Olympics ever, but it's football that is the really big sport up here. Nothing like going to an Aalesund match.

I only have to say..... we should get the stadium in Zenica ready for WC2006, cuz we never lost there! and hopefully this tradition will not end

The fans today were for me a bit dissapointed, they were more calling "buu" for the danes, then cheering for BiH

I watched the game via the net, thanks to the Danish TV.
I thought it was an OK game. Denmark were somewhat better in the 1st half, and Bosnia slowlt worked their way into the match.
I must say I was cheering for Bosnia, even if Norway was only leading by 1 goal over Luxembourg. Bosnia came very close, and I felt sorry when you guys missed some good opportunities...
I think Bosnia should learn how to counter more quickly.

Anyways, a pretty good performance at this Euro qualifying for Bosnia, and I hope you do well in the future...

Ya I know Orange I was referring to Scandinavia in general.
Didn't know Norway was the most successful nation in the Winters ever (I figured it was the Soviets). Nice achievement. Yugoslavia (the old one, S&M I won't even discuss) on the other hand, has a grand total of 4 medals.

Hi guys

Sorry to see the end result there.

But on the other hand, I figure (even though the disappointment is probably weighing thorugh more now) you should also be proud. Before the campaign started, IMHO many would have signed to be in the running on the last matchday in this group and a number of your stars are still quite young, so you still have good times ahead of you.

Best of luck in the WC qualifiers. Hope to see you there in 2006.
