Official Thread: Macedonia - Israel

Avraham Grant has finally announced his squad to take on Macedonia this Wednedsay in Skopje. The big shocks are the inclusion of 19 year old Maccabi Petah Tikva midfielder Gal Alberman ( ) and the exclusion of Badir and Abuksis.

Here is the full squad:

Dudu Awatt, Alon Harazi, Aduram Keise, Arik Benado, Avishai Zano, Michael Zandberg (Maccabi Haifa), Liran Strauber, Avi Nimni, Tal Banin, Gadi Brumer, Eli Biton (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Omri Afek, Shimon Gershon, Igal Antebi, Asi Domb, Kfir Udi (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Idan Tal (Rayo Vallecano), Eyal Berkovic (Manchester City), Yossi Benayoun (Santander), Gal Alberman (Maccabi Petah Tikva)

Katan was also called up but he is injured so he can't make it. This squad looks a bit surprising, just like all of our previous friendlies.

About our opponent, can't say I know them well. I watched Macedonia play Enlgand last month (2:2) and they looked quite impressive. Their names might not be well known stars but they are dangerous. Their star striker is Sakiri, a forward who plays for CSKA Sofia and also scored against England and another well known name for Israeli fans and especially Dieselguy, gba and myself is defender Milan Stojanoski, one of the players that played for Beitar 2 seasons ago.
Any opinions on this game, predictions, thoughts about Grant and the squad and anything else, put it in here.

"Stop and stare...I think I'm moving but I go nowhere...."

Stojanoski was released of the squad, so no Israeli connection there.

This a surprising squad, however Alberman has been playing well and I think this call up can only do him good. However, I'm bothered with the fact that Grant only called up one striker! And it is a striker that doesn't play as much in the league (I think he deserves to be a starter in Hapoel but that's only me). Grant should've called someone like Holtzman or Asulin (Refua can't because he didn't complete his army service but maybe the Antebi case would apply for him as well, go figure).
I don't think that this will do good for us, even though we should win this match we need to have more force in offence!

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally the thread is created!

I am looking forward to this game!!

Its a shame that Katan wouldn't be able to play, but he need to recooperated ,in order to be ready for the Domestic and AEK upcoming match ups! Hopefully he can participate in a game around the new year, if israel has the chance to play!

As for Macedonia......In Simple words; There tough team to beat! There not good and there small, but they can lead a high damage to any opponent.

They had a friendly with Malta and beat them 5-0, but i think they then had another friendly and lost 0-5...

Either way, they were part of the Yugoslavian (THE MOTHER LAND!!!!!) football organization and they are very deadly........the 5 jewels of Balkan Soccer (Macedonian, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia) includes them!

I hope the best for israel and i am positive a big upset for macedonia!
i expect a nice a comforting 3-1 win!

And why is Nimny back in the team!!!!!!!!

Hey
I'm from Macedonia

I will probably go to the stadium for this match and i really expect a good mach even if it is friendly.I think that Israel are team that deserves a respect.

About our player:
Milan Stojanovski won't play for us....there were some problems between him and the coach.Sakiri will play that is for sure...the other players will probably be from the match against England.Vasovski, the great defender, will play and that is good.
I'm not sure but i think that the Brazilian who plays for our team-Braga is again missing which is really bad because he is amazing player. And Goce Hristovski the guy from Holland's Nec Neiminghen i thin that is still injured

Ok,so i'm looking foorwar to seeing this match on stadium and good luck guys!

Hello my Macedonian friend

Keep on coming! love to have you as a guest here!

Israel's Defense is very well built and heavily constructed in the Midfeild!!! The past 10 years we saw high and lows of the defense and i think we made it to the point where our quality especially in Europe is as challengable as teams like England, Spain, France, etc.....

We are also good in strikers and offense
You just watch and see

Any good players in Makedonia NT?

Hey

Yes sure i'll try to post some pictures to you from the match and from Skopje if you want to....no problem.

As for Vardar what can i tell you.....Vardar was formed in 1947 and it is the most succssesful club from Macedonia.
In 1961 they have won the coup of Yugoslavia and in 1986/87 they were Yugoslavian champions.
Their first jersey coulr was red(now they are red&black). But in 1963 there was a big earthquake in Skopje.Vardar were on tour in Bulgaria but they imidietlly came back and then the all town was ruind and there were a lot of victims.......that's why from that day they have put black on their jersey's,because of their sorrow.....and they are still Red&Black!
They have won the coup of Yugoslavia in 1960/61
The coup of Macedonia:1992/93;1994/95;1997/98;1998/99
Champions of Yugoslavia:1986/87
Champions of Macedonia:1992/93;1993/94;1994/95;2001/02

As for the players....yes there are very good.Like the defender Aleksandar Vasovski who also plays for our natioanl team. Also we have brazilian Oliveira.Till last year in Vardar was playing Braga, the brazilian who play for our natioanl team but he went to Greece now
Also there are other good players like Georgievski,Petkov,Ristevski,Janev,Jovcev....etc

Another Macedonian! I would love to be able to watch this match and i just hope that Popov plays wow what a player and we will hear about him very soon also Sakiri and Vasovski by the way why isnt Hristov playing he always plays for Nec and when it comes to Macedonia he is always injured. I predict a Macedonian win 2-1! That is if the coach puts a striker not like last time playing with formation 4-6-0.
