Why its important to colect more points rather than what place we r!

I was always saying that its not a difference if u finish 3rd or last in your group. What is important is how many points u have collected! In the last qualifications, those for the 2006 WC in Germany, we collected only 9 points from 12 games which is very very bad!!!! Now, this qualifications r nearly over, and FIFA in December I think will make the groups for the 2010 WC South Africa qualifications. FIFA doesnt care if we r 1st or last in our group, bu they care about our coef. which is counted like this: the sum of the collected points from the last two qualifications divided with the sum of the matches played from the last two qualifications. in our case at the moment the situation is the followin: 9 points from WC06 quals + 8 points from this quals = 17 points. 12 games played in the WC06 quals + 9 in this quals = 21. 15 points / 21 = 0,810. so our coef. is 0,810. That is what matters, the coef., not the place we finish in!

So, lets see in which pot we will be for the qualification groups for the 2010 WC if we count the coef. at this moment:

Pot 1

1 Italia 2.263 (as world champions they go directly in Pot 1 no matter what they coef. is)
2 Germany 2.750
3 Nederland 2.600
4 Croatia 2.474
5 Sweden 2.389
6 England 2.368
7 Romania 2.250
8 Czech 2.238
9 Poland 2.143

Pot 2

10 Portugal 2.136
11 Spain 2.053
12 France 2.053
13 Greece 2.000
14 Turkey 2.000
15 Russia 1.952
16 Ukraine 1.900
17 Serbia 1.900
18 Norway 1.842

Pot 3

19 Israel 1.842
20 Denmark 1.800
21 Switzerland 1.800 *
22 Scotland 1.789
23 Bulgaria 1.737
24 Ireland 1.632
25 Slovakia 1.571
26 Bosnia-Herzegovina 1.526
27 Finland 1.522

Pot 4

28 Austria 1.500 *
29 Northern Ireland 1.316
30 Hungary 1.211
31 Slovenia 1.158
32 Belgium 1.150
33 Albania 1.100
34 Lithuania 1.053
35 Latvia 1.050
36 Wales 1.000

Pot 5

37 Estonia 0.955
38 Belarus 0.895
39 Macedonia 0.810
40 Georgia 0.810
41 Cyprus 0.778
42 Armenia 0.750
43 Iceland 0.632
44 Liechtenstein 0.571
45 Moldova 0.526

Pot 6

46 Azerbaijan 0.444
47 Malta 0.444
48 Kazakhstan 0.364
49 Andorra 0.238
50 Faroe Islands 0.053
51 Luxembourg 0.000
52 San Marino 0.000
53 Montenegro 0.000

* Austria and Switzerland r host of the EURO08 so they rnt participating in this quals so their coef. is counted only from the WC06 quals.

We r in the 2nd last pot, which is very very bad! that means we cant be is a same group with the rest of the countries that r in our pot: Estonia, Belarus, Georgia, Cyprus, Armenia, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Moldova.

The hardest group that we can get is the following:

Germany
France
Denmark
Belgium
Macedonia
Montenegro

and there we have one more wasted qualifications, without chances for qualification.

The easiest group that we can get is:

England
Ukraine
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Latvia
Macedonia
San Marino

Still tough!

That is why it is important to have as much is possible more points in our group. Yet, we failed to beat Estonia, but we still have a chance to move one Pot up, ofcaurse, we need a win over Andorra and points from Croatia and Israel too! We wont move any place up in our group, that doesnt matter!

I don't have that high of an opinion of our NT but i think we are better the all these teams:

29 Northern Ireland 1.316
30 Hungary 1.211
31 Slovenia 1.158
32 Belgium 1.150
33 Albania 1.100
34 Lithuania 1.053
35 Latvia 1.050
36 Wales 1.000

Northern Ireland and Wales, aren't very good they only showed flashes of good football, I know Northern Ireland is going well this year but they aren't very good a few years ago they beat England but were something like 130 on FIFA ranking, i don't hold them in high regard.
Belgium is also not very good yea they beat Serbia a month ago or so but they're rather weak. Didn't they get trashed by Croatia in 2004 4-0 both games, or something like that, they were in World cup 2002, but since then they've been horrible.

It doesn't matter what group we are in if we can't beat the teams that we are suppose to beat and are only good for 1 surprise result per qualifying campaign.

I choose these teams because we have ok history against them so imo this would be as close to a ideal group that I would like to see us in.

What makes you think that? Until some drastic changes are made I wouldnt even think about qualifying because it will only end in dissapointment.

So basically we have absolutely no shot at qualifying for the 2010 WC and our only chance of ever qualifying for a big tourney is if they expanded Euro 2012 to 24 teams.

Macedonia will play EC the day Uefa choose to let all europ teams take part, witch mean 48 teams or something.

Drop thhis Q talks boyzzzzz, is just nonsense.

Its prity wired to even bring up such an topic less then 24H since macedonia maneged to play 1-1 with Estonia (125rank) reserve team. -6 ordenary estonian starters.

I would love to see us in EC lets make that clear, but we most be realistic and we all know its just nonsense talk.

Would you rather have us lose like this and be out since the Croatia game or do what Bosnia did and beat teams like Norway get within a few points of 2nd place and then lose two in a row to Hungary and Moldova?
