Breen's OK, he's got a World Cup goal to his credit, but I'm not sure if he's what we're looking for. I still think we should go abroad for another centre-back.

Well we were interested in Breen as well. But i think now we have signed Wallwork I wouldn't think we'd sign him too.
Quality player no doubt.

Wonder why the couldn't agree terms? Cant be due to money!

The points I made earlier still stand:
- we need a lower-paid, higher-performing team
- we need a team with pace and creativity, which we have been woefully lacking for years
- we need a strategy in place to prepare us for a very hard life in a harder Premier League than ever

Everton Close In On Joseph Yobo
News Archive

Yobo (R) is wanted by Everton (Allsport)
07/05/2002. Everton are planning to step up their attempts to clinch the signing of Nigerian international Joseph Yobo.

The Marseille defender is also a target for Juventus, however Everton boss David Moyes remains hopeful that he can entice Yobo to Goodison shortly.

He told the Liverpool Echo, "Yobo is a very good player, probably the best from Nigeria. I have no doubt he is a future captain of his country. He is young and will improve. I hope over the next couple of days we will move a little closer to signing him."

I'd happily visit the Everton forum. Of course i'd be gloating all the time. Honestly though, i don't hate Everton (only pity) so i'd put in some worthy comments.

Once again Everton fans sit and wonder What happened to Kendals empty promise when he hired Moyes. Everton aquired 100 Mill. Pounds from advanced season ticket sales. This would help add more money for players on the transfer market as well as a better training facility. Well with the season starting in a little over a month Everton have signed no one. Where did the money go, let me guess, for new homes for the Board in the Isle of Man. If I were Moyes I would be running for the nearest team that would Hire him.

Everton Increase Bid For Mart Poom
News Archive

Mart Poom - Everton bound? (Allsport)
07/06/2002. Everton are set to sign Derby County goalkeeper Mart Poom.

The Estonian stopper is the top summer target for Goodison boss David Moyes and it's thought that Poom is in Liverpool for talks after Everton increased their bid.

I'd definitely have Poom at our club. Though I'd still be tempted to look at Italy for a keeper- Taglialatela (Fiorentina, ex-Napoli) has been highly regarded and can do a good job.

If there was an Everton forum, i would gladly visit it

Besides, it would be nice to see a forum dedicated to the one and only club that has played 100 years of top flight football

Breen's wage demands were too high for Everton. We would have picked him up with the Bosman ruling, but we couldnt match his wage expectations. Easy as that

I think signing Poom and Christie would be a good move for us if we could pay for them. We'd have a decent strikeforce and good 'keeper, all we'd need then is a new midfield and a new central defender.

well toffees, we're doing our best, but the word is that there needs to be at least 3 or 4 regular evertonians posting here to justify an Everton forum. Thats the word from the top, and to be fair, its not entirely unreasonable. So thats what you need to work towards.

what about a Hammers forum?

Selling probably our best defensive prospect since Bobby Moore is sound business practice. Of course.
