Great!
There is a friend of mine here in Italy who is a warm supporter of West Ham and said that there is no chance for CP to overcome West Ham.
Go CP!

It appears I may have been wrong about Popovic being banned for this game:embarass:
http://www.football-league.premiumt...,,10794,00.html

Michael hughes has a 2 game ban instead, which is not good as he runs the midfield:fero:
Toni, West Ham may have up to 3 players banned for the next match away to Stoke City. Is your freind a gambling man

Didn't see the game, only the goals on tv, but it sounds like Palace made this hard work for themselves A horrible error by GK Vaesen let Crewe back into the game, he tried to chest the ball down but managed to chest it into his own net

Walsall is fighting against relegation though, and will probably give 130%, not the best time to meet them. Still the way Palace is playing, they should be able to win against a bottom team, even one in a desperate situation.

I was looking at a Norwegian TV match today, but kept checking Palace's score every two minutes. The goal I was waiting for never seemed to come though, and then finally it was there. Palace had won 1-0, and now they are in qualification with one round left. If they are lucky, they can even lose the last match, and get a quali place. If they are not lucky with the other results, then a draw away to Coventry will be enough.

Of course promotion is what really matters, but just getting a qualification place would be fantastic.

Palace 1-0 Walsall

PHHHHEEEEWWWWWW

You don't know how close it was Orange!!
Walsall came for a draw and nearly got it, they played one up front and the rest behind the ball
Palace totally dominated possession but lacked the guile or imagination to break through a resolute Walsall defence, our best effort was a 2nd half Riihilahti header from a corner that was brilliantly saved by Walsall 'keeper Walker.
It looked like we were going to screw up, until sub Tommy Black dribbled into the area and went down, dive i thought but no, it's a penalty :nervous:
Picture this, 88th min' pen, arguing Walsall players surrounding the Ref , AJ and Dougie Freedman playing keepy up headers on the penalty spot
AJ smacks the PK down the middle, but the 'keeper parries the ball rolls back to AJ and he tucks it in

So, a win or draw at Coventry will be enough. It's on Sky tv in the UK so you may be able to watch in Norway

The local pub has Sky, but I'm going away this coming weekend, so I doubt I will be able to see it.

I just hope they can make it.

There must be a sports bar somewhere in Turin that'll show it.
Anyway, you'll be at the delle Alpi watching Juve vs Samp , won't you?

Coventry 2-1 Palace :depress:
Konjic 2
Doyle 27
Freedman 64

AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
I don't need this stress, got enough grey hairs already

We were absolute rubbish in the 1st half and were 2-0 down at half time. Coventry dominated midfield and cut off the service to the forwards. The 1st goal came after 2 mins, Konjic scored with a header after being left un marked from a corner
Popovic and Liegertwood struggled to contain Coventry's small fast forwards, whilst Palace fired to many long balls up to Shipperley or into the channels for AJ to chase.
Coventry scored again on 27 when Palace lost the ball in midfield :rollani: Doyle out paced Butterfield and fired across goal and in off the post :depress:

Half Time... all of the scores from the other games involving teams in the play off fight were going against Palace. Sheff Utd, Ipswich, Wigan all winning.

The 2nd half started much as the 1st had finished . Dowie then made 2 changes , Freedman for Liegertwood, Derry for Riihilahti, and changed the formation to 3-5-2.
It paid off almost straight away, Freedman scoring from close range after AJ robbed a defender .
Palace surged forward and almost equalised when Hughes drew the defenders towards him and then laid the ball off to Julian Gray , whose low shot beat the keeper but was brilliantly cleared off the line by Cov defender Davenport
Things got more and more tense as time was running out. With 5 minutes left there was a huge roar from the 5000 Palace fans at the ground , it could mean only one thing, West Ham had equalised against Wigan TV confirmed the good news, Brian Deane had scored in the 90th minute
PHEEEWWW!!

The team may not have finished it off in style, but the qualification spot was well earned, after a fantastic season. As any fan I would of course be delighted with a promotion, but even if we don't get it, I think this season has shown the potential of the current team, and next season can easily be an even better one.
