find it slightly funny a Watford/Granada player goes to Leicester and not Watford

Alfred N'Diaye (To Hull)

Country : Senegal
Age : 26
Position : Defensive Midfield
Signed From : Villarreal
Signed On Loan
16/17 Who Scored Rating : 6.15

Wasn't very good for Sunderland, seemed to do a lot better for Betis, so fingers crossed he can offer something.

Is this entire mercato this uninspiring? I like to read your transfer updates, almost like its FM story lol, but man, all these are just championship transfers, or lowly clubs that are about to go down to that level lol.
All the big boys seem to be waiting for the summer. It's been a pretty boring window.

Sakho has signed for Palace, but there's no news as to what kind of deal yet.

Mamadou Sakho (To Palace)

Country : France
Age : 26
Position : Centre Back
Signed From : Liverpool
Signed On Loan
16/17 Who Scored Rating : N/A

I'd have my questions as to how fit he can be having been out of favour all season but if he's fit, he's a massive upgrade at the back for them. With him, Mandanda, Remy and Cabaye they've got quite the French internationals collection going on down there.

Adlene Guedioura (To Middlesbrough)

Country : Algeria
Age : 31
Position : Centre Midfield
Signed From : Watford
Price (Approx) : £4,000,000
16/17 Who Scored Rating : 6.53

Pretty average player, seems very much a consolation prize for Karanka.

Marc Wilson (To West Brom)

Country : Ireland
Age : 29
Position : Utility Player
Signed From : Bournemouth
Signed On Loan
16/17 Who Scored Rating : N/A

West Brom's new Chinese owner talks a good game, but he really does need to start providing more than Marc Wilson on loan.

To hijack your thread briefly with one post, this a good roundup of general summary of Europe's winter mercato habits, by a journo called Andy Braselle:

Quote:
Villarreal's lucrative sale of Alexandre Pato to Tianjin Quanjian was comfortably the biggest transfer in La Liga, though Jese's loan move to his hometown club of Las Palmas was a romantic subplot on deadline day.

France was busier than usual this winter, with Julian Draxler and Goncalo Guedes both joining Paris St-Germain for big fees, Lyon splashing out on Memphis Depay and Marseille luring Dimitri Payet back. The Dimitri Payet deal looked like going to the wire but was done in time for him to make his second debut for the club on deadline night. On deadline day it was Lille, under new ownership, who were busiest, signing no less than six in a frenetic 24 hours, led by €8 million winger Anwar El Ghazi from Ajax.

Germany doesn't really get the English spirit of deadline day, with the Bundesliga wrapping things up at a civilised hour as usual. Bayern Munich made a pair of big signings in Hoffenheim pair Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy, but they won't arrive until summer. Borussia Dortmund moved quickly to snap up Swedish wunderkind Alexander Isak and Bayer Leverkusen also spent big on a youngster on deadline day, paying €12 million for Jamaican teenager Leon Bailey from Genk.

Thank goodness, then, for Turkey's taste for thespectacular, with champions Besiktas and surprise title chasers Baskasehir both going for striking experience in Demba Ba and Emmanuel Adebayor respectively.

France the winners of winter transfers for sure.

Yeah it was an oddly good window for France. I imagine they will be asset stripped as usual in summer though

Kamil Grosicki (To Hull)

Country : Poland
Age : 28
Position : Winger
Signed From : Rennes
Price (Approx) : £7,000,000
16/17 Who Scored Rating : 6.68

I liked this guy in the Euros, but apparently he hasn't been as good at his club. Regardless, another pacy winger is something we could use, and indicative of a positive change of direction under Silva.

Overall I would say Palace look to be the winners of the window, having signed 4 players who can be useful to them without losing anyone major.

Swansea also seem to have had a decent window, adding more creativity and goalscoring threat to take some of the burden off Sigurdsson and Llorente.

West Ham went for experience and signed two players who could be massive, but obviously lost Payet

Stoke, Southampton and Burnley have not added big in numbers, but have all signed one player who can potentially make a massive difference to them.

Hull have swapped two important players for a bunch of potentially important players, and it could be a great window for us if three or so of those players work out.

Pretty uneventful everywhere else.

A bunch more random championship moves that happened later in the day.

Jack Byrne (who's meant to be fairly promising), left Man City on a permanent basis to sign for Wigan.

Ross McCormack managed to get over his electric gates to sign for Forest on loan from Villa. Potentially a massive signing, as he's a proven goalscorer at that level.

Zach Clough (no relation), joins Forest from Bolton. Has looked pretty promising from what I've seen and heard.

League two top scorer and potential next player on the Charlie Austin/Jamie Vardy/Andre Gray route, Omar Bogle signs for Wigan from Grimsby.

- Michael Kightly joined Burton Albion on loan from Wolves.

Scott Hogan joined Villa from Brentford for £12m, amusingly on the same day Brentford beat Villa 3-0.

Yanic Wildschut joins Norwich from Wigan for £7m

- Birmingham signed young Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik on loan from Arsenal.

Wales Euro 2016 player David Cotterill joined Bristol City from Birmingham

Ben Marshall joins Wolves from Blackburn to link up with Paul Lambert again.

The man with the worlds shittest beard, Lewis Grabban joins Reading on loan from Bournemouth. I'm not sure why Howe brought him back in the first place.

Swansea wide man Modou Barrow goes on loan to Leeds to play for Monk again.

- Mitchell Dijks has joined Norwich on loan from Ajax.

Gabriel Obertan surfaces again, to play for Wigan.

He forgot to add some henna to it p

Branislav Ivanovic has left Chelsea and joined Zenit St Petersburg on a 2,5 year deal. They won't have to pay anything for him. Outstanding servant to the club and one of the more likeable Chelsea players for me, probably because he was good for me in fantasy football last season all of a sudden, it went pearshaped though.

Clough looked a really promising player at Bolton. So much better than what was around him. Kinda think he'll do nothing at Forest. They seem like a black hole of footballing promise. Would rather have seen him go somewhere he may improve as a footballer maybe. He needed to get out of Bolton though. He'd have been better off somewhere like Brentford who at least have a gameplan and develop talent.

He looked great.

The signing of the window for me so far even at this early stage is the return of the Huyton Hammer.

Since it was announced he was returning to Liverpool the team have embarked on a great run of results which have Anfield fans dreaming of their first ever Premiership. They also had the icing on the cake of Countiho signing a new deal and being able to keep their star players from going to West Ham, unlike previous seasons when West Ham have been able to take whoever they want from Liverpool and they managed to get the Crown Jewells in Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing too.

One thing I was disappointed about was there was no Window Shopping in Southampton.

The results -

Liverpool 2 Swansea City 3
Southampton A 0 Southampton B 1
Liverpool 1 WoolyHampton 2
Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1
Hull 2 Liverpool 0

Gabbiadini and Niang scores too. Couple that with former Serie A greats like Obiang and Alonso scoring too, its a smashing day for Serie A rejects lol.

Let's hope he keeps showing the same desire.
