To be fair Canales is at Real Madrid, but is a product of Racing's academy.

Apologies, I haven't had much time lately for XT so haven't been providing more names.

John Bostock

Age: 18
Height: 5ft 10"
Position: CM

Scored a brillaint goal on the weekend for Hull and a brilliant one for the U19's against spain. He has a great shot on him but doesn't use it often or score much, excellent passing and likes to keep the ball and play things simple. Sometimes too simple and isn't always proactive and trying to dictate the game. Kind of like a thin Huddlestone with little defencive abilities. Never sure about him, some days he turns up and can be very impressive on the ball. Not the most creative either despite played in advanced positions sometimes. Not the most exciting of the listed talents.

John Swift

Age: 14???
Height: ???
Position: CM/RM

Saw highlights of his games with Chelsea in the junior Milk Cup and sure I have seen him in a few Chelsea youth league games too. The milk cup has some pedigree with quite a few pro's coming through there (BECKHAM!!! *fawns*), think he was named the player of the tournament for the youth section too. As you can see by the lack of picture and details there is little information about him available but he looks a player to me. Very good positioning, great touch and ability to shift a ball, excellent passing ability and a great shot on him. He looked a tall guy at that level so hopefully makes it past the English coaches with their approval.

This one is definitely jumping the gun too quickly but who cares, might come good.

Well we started off really poor, and went 2-0 down but came back into it to salvage a draw. Couldn't find a stream though.

We won 4-0 against Australia and 3-1 against Portugal to win the 'FA' Cup (desperate for cash apparently). Kid called Powell looked pretty good, heard about interest for him in a move from Crewe but hadn't seen much of him before. Watch this space I guess.

Oh, and he gets 1 cap for England and manages to get himself arrested... is it a prerequisite to being an England regular or something?

According to reports he was a "mediator" in the fracas. Not sure what to believe.

U21s:

England 1-0 up away to Portugal in the qualifiers. We need a result here if we hope to progress. A draw will do us to stay in second in the group with one game to, but a win will us secure us a playoff place.... I think.
Working stream.

Finished 1-0. So that's second place guaranteed. We need to finish either first or be one of the four best runners up to gain a play off place. Greece (current group leaders) are away to Macedonia tomorrow and we've got to play Lithuania on the 7th

Quote:
The first stage of the qualifying competition is a group stage followed by play-offs. Each group winner, as well as the four highest ranked second place teams, will advance to the play-off. The play-off will determine which seven nations join Denmark in the final tournament. Denmark, as hosts, qualify automatically.
If Greece drop points tomorrow and we beat Lithuania we'll go through to the play offs as group winners.

If we finish second, it goes down to 4 best runners-up so we'll have to see over the next week.

I heard a little commentary about some skills?

Powell is already getting articles written about him at the BBC...

Greece beat Macedonia 1-2 today so they top on the group on 19 points. So now we have to beat Lithuania and hope other results go our way. The teams we're fighting with to get in to the best 4 2nd placed teams have some tough games so it's entirely possible we'll still snatch a playoff place.

Connor Wickham

Age: 17
Height: 6ft 3"
Position: ST

Connor is a physically imposing forward, who despite his already huge size remains in full control of his balance and able to use his strength to good effect. Very hard to knock off the ball, able to win a lot in the air but likes to play football with his feet. Patient and intelligent use of the ball, always looking up rather than worrying about how to control it. In possession of a good skillset, with an excellent touch and ability to shift the ball. He has a desire and confidence to both win 50/50's but also hold up the play while others arrive in dangerous positions. He has a good goalscoring record although he does miss a fair few chances, he usually gets so many chances due to his excellent play however. I wouldn't say he stands out as well as others have at that level, but he is getting more press because we won something and we're in desperate need of a new striker. He is at a good club to progress his game, and I really hope he stays there for another year before moving on. A lot of luck involved however, you look at Adam Johnson who could easily have been resigned to the bench at City is now getting caps for the senior England squad. On the otherhand people like Moses and Sturridge were far better than Johnson at youth level and are stuck on the bench so not being touted for England.

So yeah, very good and exciting young talent. Could be our Drogba, different styles but in terms of physical domination.

U21's won their game against lithuania 3-0. First goal was a nice move, Wilshere played a very intelligent pass to Welbeck. Second goal was Albrighton, who I have been very impressed with so far... taken to top level football like a duck to water so far. Great ball by Welbeck to set the goal up, who looked very good... shame Sturridge couldn't carry on. So frustrating now. Third goal was a sublime bit of play from Wilshere and Henderson, with Welbeck finishing the move.

Waiting on other results to see if we got to the play-off's. Fingers crossed and all that.

All results in. We've qualified as one of the best runners-up from what I can gather.
