Welcome Burnley

Well I guess most people would have said the same about Hull last season and it indeed was tough for them in the 2nd half of this season.

That said, Burnley did well in the cup competitions against premiership opposition so we already know that their players aren't a bunch of scared cats.

Still the thought of Turf Moor now being a premiership ground lol

Eagles is actually shockingly good considering how wank I thought he was when he left Man U.

Plus Burnley would have done better tonight.

Burnley are a good side. They play decent football and they have a knack of scoring spectacular long range goals, and they do get a lot of penalties at an alarming regularity.

If Carlsberg did forum signatures......

Burnley fans high-sixing each other all over the town.

Dyche has done a great job, Watford must be kicking themselves for letting him go. They've deserved their promotion and they're not out of the title race yet, although its very unlikely they'll catch Leicester now.

Ings and Vokes have been a fantastic partnership, however both have been injured in the last few weeks, so its a relief they managed to get promoted as they looked like running out of steam. Vokes' injury could rule him out of the start of the season in the Premier League. Ings is the more promising striker, although unproven at Premier League level.

Trippier has been a wonderful player for them this season too. City let him go there permanently after a loan spell. He's got 16 assists this season, and is just as good going back as going forward. I'd love to see him back at City when Richards goes as an understudy to Zabaleta and I'm not the only blue to say that. They also have Ben Mee, who was captain of the FA Youth Cup winning side Trippier was a part of.

The rest of their squad is a bit light on Premier League experience, with the likes of Marney, Baird, Shackell and Kightly all having limited appearances at that level. They'll need to improve the squad, but Dyche has them very well organised with a mean defence. If Palace stayed up this season by building on a solid defence, Burnley certainly can next season.

Burnley and Leicester up and 1 more to go. I think we all fancied Leicester at the start of the season, but not sure of Burnley. Will be tough for them but teams like Palace and even Hull proved that it can be done

Of the playoff places right now QPR and Derby have definitely qualified and Wigan are 5 points clear with 2 games to play so are pretty much secure.

6 Brighton 44 17 15 12 51 39 12 66
7 Forest 44 16 17 11 65 58 7 65
8 Ipswich 44 17 14 13 58 52 6 65
9 Reading 43 17 13 13 63 53 10 64
10 Blackburn 44 16 16 12 63 58 5 64
11 B'mouth 44 17 12 15 63 64 -1 63

Reading's game in hand could prove critical. Forest have finally rediscovered some form winning 2 in a row after winning none in ten. Bournemouth getting in the playoffs would be marvellous, possibly the smallest side ever to play in the Premier League if they can get there. No side is on an unstoppable run of form but Blackburn are unbeaten for 10 games. Wigan have been in amazing form since Rosler took over, but have dipped slightly after the FA Cup Semi Final. I'd most like to see them come up due to Rosler. QPR I hope to never see in the Premier League again. Derby would be okay, and Blackburn is an away trip I've missed.

Of the teams left to possibly go up I would hope it is either Derby, Forest or Reading

have a feeling its gonna be Wigan though Derby have been very good since the arrival of McClaren. 6th place will either be Reading or Brighton

The problem with Burnley is I don't know how much they can spend, everybody is saying Palace and Hull are models to follow but they both have spent decent money. Palace I think spent like 25-30m (most of it unwisely under Holloway, but Pulis still kept them up). Hull spent 15m alone in January.

Looking back at the signings they made when they promoted back in 2009, they spent 13.5m (Fletcher 4m; Bikey 3.2m; Fox 2m then a number of smaller fee signings)

Prefer Derby. We'll get our obligatory 6 points off them like we have done in our last 10 meetings. We own this lot. And plus its a short easy away day.

Wigan would be alright too I suppose.
