XT's revised Advertising Strategy
New advertising policy
Yesterday VS published their first quarter results and Xtratime.org showed a significant discrepancy between expected and realised revenue from advertisements. This is cause for concern as the whole basis for economic viability of their hosting of this website is of course ad income. In short, we cost far more than we make.
This has resulted in a change in advertising policy that will soon be implemented and this announcement serves as prior notification.
Effective as soon as the coding can be completed, the advertising banners will included sponsored links from partner sites in the adult entertainment industry, commonly known as pornography.
Both VS and Xtratime’s management realize that this will be quite a deviation from our long standing site policies, but with the disappointing ad revenue, it has unfortunately become a reality that we cannot ignore. The profits from the adult entertainment genre are so substantial that a mere month would be enough to balance the first quarter loss.
To maximise profits each member will be able to select an ad package in their profile, so that they will be able to view ads corresponding to their tastes. It serves no purpose to have a homosexual member view heterosexual banner ads, for example.
We understand that this may cause some problems when viewing Xtratime at one’s place of business or at school, and therefore we hope that through this advance notice our members can take appropriate measures to prevent any problems with their day to day visits to Xtratime.
If there are any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the site’s administrators.
