Oblak sacked! Who's next?

So that day finally came, Oblak is history! Nothing to be really too much happy about but still a good thing to see! It was about time, we became a laughing stock of the footballing world once again thanks to his "work".

Goodbye Brane - don't you ever come back!

He started off quite promissing but than it all just fell appart. Why? I guess noone can really say but that's not the main question. I agree with Zavrl on this :eekani: it's not so much the results, it's the way we were losing, the state the NT is in now. It's depressing!

So what now? Who?

Again, I belive it's the best time to bring in a foreigner. Someone who won't be bothered by the current situation in our football, from the mess at the NZS down to the missery of the NT. Someone who could just begin his work with the team and won't look elsewhere. Will it happen though? I think not.:undecide:

Unofficially Darko Milanič is the top candidate. Any other time he'd get my vote, but becouse of the time we are in and becouse of all that went on lately I just don't know.

We'll see ...

I really hope we go for a foreigner, but i doubt they will have the balls to do it:rollani: I don't want to diss Darko Milanič but I think he isn't ready to handle such a delicate situation in which we are know...

As they say hope dies last, so I hope for a foreigner

Milanič is OK it's just that I think the time is not right for him. He said that himself. He only just settled in at Sturm, so to become a selektor would mean giving up on that job, becouse he couldn't do both at the same time.

Like you said, the situation is a delicate one, so the decission - whatever it will be - better be a good one!

Doesn't that depend on whose responsibility it is? I think it's a shared one, though having said that, I don't follow the team well.

Who are the candidates to become Oblak's successor? Milanic and ... ?

Well, I will wait until few games with our new NT coach to make a judgement. I don't think Oblak was the worst option out there, to be honest. I think Milanic will prove that. I hope I am wrong...

It does, but I think Oblak is the main reason why we are where we are at the moment - looking directly at the NT. Of course there are others like Zavrl that pull then strings from the back that have bloody hands as well.

Of course you can't say that before anything even started. Who would have thought Srečko would do what he did when he was made selektor? I guess only time will tell.
One thing I did learn under Oblak though - I'll never again jump the conclusion.

Zlatko Kranjcar? doubt Slovenia would be able to attract a decent foreign manager, no offense, although you might have the money to afford one?

Money is the key here HS. If our FA decides and goes for it, meaning lashes out the money, than I'm sure we could find a decent foreign selektor. I doubt this will happen though.

Kranjčar? No way man. Infact, I'm strongly against anyone coming from our former common country.

But I may be wrong, granted. However Milanic didn't convince me by his work in Primorje. I was all for him before he came to Primorje, but after that, no way. The team was utter shit under him, even Prasnikar is doing much better with players of inferior quality...

Hm, who mentioned Kranjcar in the first place?
But if he really came, would that mean that his son would play for Slovenia?

Milanič didn't convince me as well. But remember Katanec forinstance and his time at Gorica before he became selektor. Not really something spectacular.
Like I said, Dare isn't my top choice (although honestly at the moment I don't have one at all) but would be a good one nontheless.
I spoke to Učo about him some time ago and he said he's a good coach, he had nothing to hold against him. Why the results at Primorje weren't better I can't really say. From the start I belive things were better, but latter on things somehow faded. The resemblance to Brane?

Anyway, meanwhille, we've got ourselves another selektor candidate. Ivo Šajh, a coach that worked very little in Slovenija, long time ago in Beltinci, but most of his time he woked in some exotic countries.

I am not sure whether this is confirmed or not, but Djurovski would be better choice than both other candidates, IMHO.

No Djurovski, thank you very much. We need someone who'll instill order and disciplinne in our team, we don't need a coach that's known for not being too keen to work. We don't need noone from the forme Juga. We have enough of those here allready "coaching" our clubs.:rollani:

How do you know that he is not keen to work, have you seen him? His Nafta is 6th at the moment, only 5 points behind 2nd place, and the roster of his team is ridiculously weak compared to other teams. So far, it seems to me that he has done a great work there, which cannot be said for Milanic at Primorje.

Hm, weren't you all in favor of a foreign coach here? Or you just forgot to add "but not from former Juga" label?
