Central European League?

In the Croatian media there has been plenty of talks about having a sort of league involving some central European countries in a tournament because the clubs in these countries don't go far into Europe. In many interviews with Croatian players playing abroad they have said this is a good idea.

Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary have done it with hockey and its improved all three countries in hockey, especially Slovenia. In basketball Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia have a regional league, the crowds come for violence though more than basketball but its expected.

Here is the purposed plan:

a 12-16 team tournament, each country send their best 2-3 teams. The Croatian view is mixed, some don't like it, some do because our league is becoming the biggest piece of shit in Europe

I'm sure the quality of the league will be good.

What are you Slovenians thought about this? like it or not? I know anytime one of our teams play Maribor there is a huge interest, but unfortunetely Slovenian domestic soccer doesn't hasn't really been anything spectacular in a few seasons but the same can be said about Croatia. I have opened this thread in all the countries forums, as I am interested to see what you guys think

The league would most likely take place in the spring, after eventually all our teams are out of Europe, you think the quality would be good? You think 10,000+ people would come to watch teams like Hajduk Split, Austria Vienna or Slovan Liberec is the quality was good?

Since our league is worse than any of the other mentioned, our clubs can only profit from this since they will play stronger opposition more often. However, I am not sure what stronger countries like Austria and Czech Republic will think about it...

It could be a good thing, like OAnimal said. I'd include the more southern countries as well, Bosna, Srbija and Makedonija, something like the basketball NLB liga. That of course would mean a wholle different thing which we all know of.:rollani: But purely from the footballing point of view it would be a super thing to do.

well Vecernji had three proposals but this is the only one which would make sense and which realistically would not be about violence. Also the HNS and players want to avoid Serbian clubs

I know, that, including Serbian team in shuch league, would draw a hell of a lot of violence to the stadiums and noone really wants that.

But than again, I can just imagine a game between Maribor and Dinamo wouldn't be much different from that aspect either.

I don't know, it doesn't sound like a bad idea, it's just that the time is not right just yet.:undecide:

Maybe you can start with this formula and then expand it later on.

Why not include Bosnia and Serbia, but exclude fans? That would be a great way to avoid violence

You can't do that, because many of Zvezda and Partizan fans live in Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, etc.

I know it was a joke, but it gets to the root of the problem; no people, no fights.

Exactly Tok. That really would solve the violence but it would be a joke.

Yes it would, beacause it wouldn't include deaths.
