can Slovenia co-host with neighbouring nations for European Championship

former Yugoslavia hosted tournament once

Croatia want to co-host with Hungary in 2012

even Bosnia wanted to co-host with Croatia before, but failed

Slovenia qualified for World Cup and European Championship, but do they want to host tournaments in future?

honestly for Croatia, I'd rather do it with BiH than Slovenia. Slovenia has little interest in football and other than Ljubljana and Maribor what other stadiums do they have to build on?

Exactly, but sadly enough, this is the only stadium that could come close to host a serious international game, although it's capacity (12.000) is well below any serious competition standard. Maribor stadium is similar as this one, only older and even smaller capacity (about 10.000). Ljubljana stadium has been ruled inappropriate to host international games long time ago. And other stadiums (if you can call them that way in the first place) are even worse and even smaller.

There is no way Slovenia can host or co-host any serious football competition and this is not bound to change anywhere in the near future. So what HajdukSplit said is completely understandable, but also pointless to discuss, because our infrastructure is not even remotely suited for international football tournament anyway.

Exactly. Even thinking about it is a sin.

Well even here it would be difficult. I mean we only have two decent clubs, Jesenice and Olimpija, and two arena's - if you can call them that, out of the two though, only Olimpija's Tivoli would be suitable to host any major tournament.
We did host the division B world championship a couple of times though which was a success, but of course that's another level.

As Walter already said, we hosted the Group B world championship a couple of times, but for hosting the Group A we don't have enough arenas and even our best one is way below standard required to host q WC final, so right now hockey world championship of group A is out of question too.
