Slovenija in Group G - after the draw

1. skupina:
Grčija
Nizozemska
Portugalska
Anglija
Češka
Francija
Švedska

2. skupina:

Italija
Turčija
Poljska
Španija
Romunija

3. skupina:

Norveška
Bolgarija

Slovakška

4. skupina:

Belgija
Latvija

Škotska
Slovenija

5. skupina:
Madžarska
Finska
Estonija
Wales
Litva
Albanija
Islandija

6. skupina:
Gruzija
Makedonija
Belorusija
Armenija
Severna Irska
Ciper
Moldavija

7. skupina:
Liechtenstein
Azerbajdžan
Andora
Malta
Ferski otoki
Kazahstan
Luksemburg
San Marino

-----------------------------------

UEFA set the groups for the Euro 2008 draw which will be held on 27 january 2006. The bad results lately cost us to drop from pot 2 to pot 4 which means much more difficult work for us in the Euro 2008 qualifications.
There will be seven groups in the qualifiers, six of the consisting of seven teamsand one of eight teams. Top two teams qualify automaticly to the Euro 2008.
So, bad news for our team.

I think the "dream" group for us would consist of:

Pot 1: England
Pot 2: Germany/Turkey/Poland
Pot 3: Bulgaria/Slovakia
Pot 5: Estonia
Pot 6: Armenia/Cyprus
Pot 7: doesn't matter

but even in this kind of group, it would be very tough to qualify... :depress:

But I fear that we will get into a really tough group, like Holland, Italy, SCG, Finland, Macedonia...

Well if you do end up drawing us, I'm sure we can look forward to two more ties

Considering the two teams current state of form, I have serious doubts that our next game would end in a draw...

My ideal group would be:

Greece
Poland
Slovakia
Slovenija
Estonia
Armania
San Marino

But I have a feeling we'll get something like:

Holland
Croatia
SCG
Slovenija
Finland
Northern Ireland
Azerbaijan

Anyway, a tough group awaits us. :irritate:

Maybe so, but this way, we can now start our climb back.

Personaly I belive pot 2 is beyond us and in the past two draws I thought we were a bit unrealisticaly seeded that high (although it was nice to be there) the numbers spoke for themselves though. I think our reality is pot 3, but even in the lower pots there are quality teams, only pot 7 is the "outsiders" pot.

Pot 3 and pot 4 aren't that different in quality terms imo.

Not me. I can't wait for us finally kicking those Norwegians! :frustrat:

Plus, as much as I loved the Scots and their fans, I really wouldn't like to see us being outnumbered again at our own stadium. The Irish are even crazier. There were 10.000 of them in the Cyprus away match last weekend. :eekani:

From a Scottish viewpoint, I think most of the teams in Pot 3 and Pot 4 are of the same standard. The problem is if we draw two "big" teams from the first 2 pots, example: Holland/Italy, Czech/Spain etc. Only a top 2 position qualifies. Everyone in pot 3/4/5 will be hoping for a combination of Greece/Sweden/Turkey/Poland/Romania/Croatia.

IF YOU HEAR THE NOISE OF THE TARTAN ARMY BOYS, WE'LL BE COMING DOWN THE ROAD!
