Katanec is Kuwait NT coach!

It's official, Srecko Katanec is the new Kuwait NT coach. After years of "unempleyment", he finally found a new challenging job.

Good luck, Srecko.

Katanec takes Kuwait job
http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/050626/1/40w5.html

Not bad considering Kuwait made it all the way to the 3rd stage of WC qual. and with Katanac in charge maybe they will have a shot at making it to the next WC, good luck to him in Kuwait i always wanted him to coach the Macedonia NT but we dont have the kind of money to pay him.

I whish Srecko all the best in coaching Kuwait. I'll be following the Asian WC qualifiers closer now to see how is he doing.

Also Tok, mercenarie? I don't think so, not Srecko. Sure the money had it's impact but defenetly it wasn't the main factor.

I thought Katanec wanted a little more challenging job in some of the football more developed countries. Kuwait is an exotic country in football terms, I think he could do better. But i guess money doesn't stink. Nevertheless i wish him the best of luck and i hope we'll see him in Germany with Kuwait. :eekani:

That's exactly why Srecko decide for Kuwait I think, to see if he can pull off another miracle and take them to the WC too. And if he can cash in a a few $$ its just a bonus. We all know they pay good money down there, so yes, money did pay a rolle there, but just like I said before, I don't think it was the main reason.

Tok's right, Katanec went for the money. Going for a real challenge would be taking up a decent Central-African side or something similar. Now all he's going to be doing is taking orders from sjeiks.

Even if I think he could do better, good luck to Srecko!

No I don't think so. I think Kuwait lost all their hopes for a direct spot at the WC but they are still in for the third place which would take them to the additional qualifiers.

I read today in Sportske Novosti that Katanec himself said that this news is false. He said that he will take over some NT soon, but this will not be Kuwait...

Since I have a feeling that they will be looking for a coach soon, after their disgraceful defeat against their arch rivals, my money is on Argentina.

Now they are mentioning something about Katanec and the Bahrain NT? He said it himself that he's about to make a deal with some NT soon.
