17.November: Slovaska-Slovenija friendly

Semler in Cime

---------------------------

Next week our NT will be in action again. This time it's the friendly against Slovakia (no we are not playing against ourselves! :rollani: ) in Trnavo.
Anyway it's rumoured that Brane will make a few changes to the team compared to the last matches we played.
First Borut Semer should take Zlato Dedic's place due to his problems with making it into his team and thus not playing. Than Cime should come if for Siljak as Brane doesn't wan't Siljo to make it all the way from China for a few days and since its only a friendly. The last change should be Miso Brecko for Karic who's also not playing in Russia and we could all see Brane wasn't too pleased with his performances lately.
However there could be some problems as Cime got injured in this weekends game agains Maribor and we are yet to see about that. Also Knavs is still questionable for this one although he did play for Bochum during the weekend.

Well, I expect a good game from our team. It will be tough to win there, since Slovakia got a good start of their qualifying campaign. I would be satisfied with a draw, or even with a decent defeat, if we show good game.

The list:

Keepers:
Ermin Hasič (KD Olimpija), Samir Handanovič (Udinese).

Defenders:
Boštjan Cesar (KD Olimpija), Aleksander Knavs (Bochum), Igor Lazič (CMC Publikum), Matej Mavrič (Molde), Željko Mitrakovič (Domžale), Almir Tanjič (Primorje).

Midfielders:
Mišo Brečko (Hamburger SV), Nastja Čeh (Club Brugge), Andrej Komac (HiT Gorica), Jalen Pokorn (Hapoel Nazareth), Simon Sešlar (CMC Publikum), Goran Šukalo (Unterhaching), Luka Žinko (Istres).

Forwards:
Milenko Ačimovič (Lille), Sebastjan Cimerotič (KD Olimpija), Klemen Lavrič (Dynamo Dresden), Borut Semler (Bayern Muenchen).

----------------------------------------

Here's the list of players for the Slovakia match. Brane said we'll take this game seriously and that he'll try some new things since he gave the chance to some 'new' players. He is still thinking about only playing with Cime upfront, the other possibility would be to add Semler. Also he didn't call Borut Mavric who has a duty at his club, so Handanovic should make his debut.

My quesion to Brane is: what the fak is Mitrakovic still doing in the team now than Knavs is back? Brane, you make some really inceredible moves.

Im sure he has a reason behind it Walter Great to see Cime back in the team and I would really love to see more of Semler than the last time . . . I'm sure he has something special to offer!

The reason? The guy is talking about how he will rejuvenate the team and yet he brigns in a defender who's 100 years old, can't run, is injury prone, doesn't have the stamina. I really wonder what his reasons are James.

About Semler I agree, the guy should get more chance than the last time. Atleast one half. He seems to be in a good form, as he scored a decisive goal in a German cup match which gave his team a place in the quarter finals, which meant a big surprise.

Maybe for his good looks? Who knows the reason behind it, I never said I did, but I am sure that Oblak wouldn't call a player to the team for no reason. Maybe Knavs isn't 100% yet so just in case . . .

Well, he was decent against the Italians, so why not see how much you can use him, together with Knavs or as his sub?

The thing that surprises me more then is the absence of Botonjic. Isn't he doing well any more in Turkey now?

Botonjic is nowhere to be found. After last season when he was doing realy well he dissapeared, he doesn't keep for Genclerbirligi anymore, they have someone else now. Honestly I don't know what's his stroy. I really thought we are getting a decent new and young keeper with him.

To be honest, yes he did fairly well against Italy, but even there one could see he's nt the man for this team. Atleast I think that way. But who am I to doubt in Brane.

He's a 20 year old whoused to play for Smartno in the Slovenian league before he went to Hamburg HSV, where he plays now. He's not a first team regular, but he had some starts there and some substitute performances.

No problem. :smileani:
His position? He's suposed to be a mdfielder but I do remember him in one game in the bundesliga, I think it was against Leverkusen, when he played as a left back. If my memory serves me well.

Well, I think Brecko is supposed to replace Karic, who played as left back or left midfielder.
