The next Selektor

Who will it be?

I give here four options, Katanec, Oblak, some foreigner or please name anyone else you would really love to see in charge of our beloved Reprezentanca.

My first choice would be Srecko, no doubt! And I'll go for him all the way!

But as I mentioned in the other thread, I wouldn't mide some foreigh coach to take the job. He'd have to be an established coach of course!

Is this a poll about predicting who will be our next NT coach or about who we wish to be the next NT coach. Well, in my case the answer is the same in both cases: Srecko Katanec.

Caipirinha: 6 €
Brazilian NT shirt: 70 €
Flight to Rio de Janeiro: 400 €
Seeing Italian NT kicked out of major tournament: PRICELESS

Hatelist:
Juvemerdus
Partizan
Associazione Culo Milan
Lazio
Barcelona de mierda
Real de puta Madrid
Manchester Shitnated
Liverfool
Dinamo Kyiv
Panathinaikos
Olympique Marseille
Bayern

You can name both, who would you want to be, and who do you think it will be. Or as in your case, they can both be the same person!

Oblak is doing a great job with our yungsters, it would be a shame if he would leave them. Katanec has done his job in the past. So I woted foreign coach.

Anyway, I voted Katanec: a man who achieved results with a generation that, with all due respect, I rate lower than the current one.

I dont know, maybe Lothar Mathaus, there are a lot of excelent coaches out there. But I think Zavrl is not compenent enough to get one good.

Great idea. :rollani:

Zavrl should lower his wage, and so all other in NZS! How the hell did Partizan afford this kind of coach?

I don't know how true it is but I read that Katanec could be the next coach of Rijeka in Croatia.

When he came to Partizan, he didn't have any achievements to back up claims for high wage. That's why he chose Partizan, team of young talented players, to which he transfered his experience and German mentality and they managed to get into the CL. He used Partizan to build his renome as a coach and my guess is that he will not work for peanuts. I may be wrong, but I think that in few years he will coach Bayern or some other big team. I heard that Prale got something like 100.000 Euros per year, so there is no way NZS can afford a coach who will demand 1 million Euros per year. That's why I think that we should stick with slovenian coaches - good foreign coaches are expensive.

That may be the journalist invention. I am not saying that he would not like to be coach of Dinamo or Hajduk, but Rijeka is another story. To make the long story short: I do not believe he will take over Rijeka (unless they offer him a lot of money (which I don't believe they have) or he is taking into consideration the fact that Rijeka is very close to Slovenia).

Besides Black, Lothar is allready selektor of the Hungarian NT.

About Katanec taking over Rijeka. Well somehow I don't buy it, but can't exclude it either. He's capable of making shuch decissions you know.

Now from foreign coaches maybe another German would be suitable for the job. Cristoph Daum, what do you think?

The latest news on the matter according to Ekipa.

Katanec will almost certainly not be our new (old) selektor, as he is concidering two offers from Greece and there is even a possibility for him to take over Stuttgart next season. Anyway it's almost 100% he'll not take it.
Plus he personaly proposed Oblak to Zavrl, to be our new selektor! Oblak is willing to take over, but says it's all in Zavrl's (NZS's) hands.

Also there are some indications that talks were held with some foreign -Croatian- coaches, namely one very specific Blaževic!

Now I hope Ciro will not be it! I respect the man and all, he's a very good coach, but NO thanks!
If it's true that Srecko (still) doesn't want to take over, than there is really only one option - Oblak!

I'd fell very sory for the U21 NT though in that case.

Don't you think we have enough good domestic coaches who can do the job?

Agreed! However I don't think we have that many domestic coaches that would qualify as suitable to take over the NT.

We don't know that. When Katanec took over the NT, nobody knew that he was capable of taking us to Euro.
