Prale is gone!

Well I can't say anything else but that I'm absolutely delighted!

Goodbye Prašnikar, thank you for you time, it wasn't all bad, we do have some good memories with him. Remember Trst! And afterall we did get to the play offs.
But that's when he lost it, and the boat started sinking, the compass lost, it all went to hell! :fero:

So bye, bye Prale, I hope never to see you again - as NT selektor that is!

Now I hope the fat faks at NZS will manage that much wisdom, and will name a Real Selektor!

My favourite - Srecko Katanec!

I knew this will happen from the moment I saw that signature of yours.

Can I ask you, why do you refer to people at our FA as "fat faks"?

Now the big question is who will replace him. According to some TV poll, people want Katanec back, but I somehow doubt that he will accept that. Second option is Oblak, but he started very well with U21 NT and it would be kind of shame to take him away, specially since our U21 NT was never really good, but we all know they are the key for the future. Then I read some other names like Nedeljko Gugolj ( ) and Milos Soskic ( ), so I am really curious to find out who will be in charge in the future. I hope our FA makes a wise decision, whatever this means. Can't wait.

You are right, this is the main question now. WHO? All the media allready sees Lucky back in the saddle, but it will be really tough one this. No secrets there, I belive the majority would give everything to see him back. I'm one of them - Srecko above all! But it will be more complicated than that I think. He's worth his money, no doubt about that and will not accept this so easily. Plus as papers tell us, he has two club offers to decide upon. With Srecko we know what we would get, a quaranteed quality! Other option, Oblak would also be good, but as you said it would be very unfair to take him away from out U21 NT as he really started a great work there.
Now the most likely scanario suggested by the media is that Gugolj will take over for a short term, just so that he prepairs the ground for Katanec who would than start the work. By prepairing ground I understand getting ridd of Zahovic, Pavlin and shuch, doing the dirty work. This must be done, sooner or later, and no question about it, it's better done now! Somehow though I'm not that much in favour of this move, it would be much better if we started of with Srecko straight away.
About Soskic I didn't hear anything.

What would be other options? I wouldn't like any forigner to take over, OK maybe Osim but we all know he refused any possibility of doing that in the past.

So we are down to Srecko and Brane?

Thats the problem, if Srecko will come back, a lot of good players will be left out of the team, therefore I hope they bring some foreign expert, who will not be burden with past sins!!!

Black may be right, maybe a foreign established expert would be welcomed for the job, for on simple reason - he wouldn't be burdened with our mentality, with the LJ vs MB problematics, with the 'little Slovenes' mentality.
Something like the hockey federation did wity Savolainen. Of course the man should be an experienced and established coach, worth of the place of the Slovenian NT!

Not really, some old players will be left out of the team and this is exactly how it should be. Zaho, Pavlin, Karic, Simeunovic did a lot for Slovenia in the past, but now their time is over and it's time to say "thank you and good bye" and move on.

These players will be left out of the team whoever will be the new manager... Zavrl said that the most important objective is to bring some of the young players to the nt...

Zavrl shoul kick himself out of the NZS. He's isn't capable to run this kind of organisation.

Easier said than done, my friend...

Btw, what's the LJ vs MB-problem?

And could you also tell me a bit more about Gugolj and Soskic?

Well, this originates from rivalry between two of our biggest teams, Olimpija (Ljubljana) and Maribor. The rivalry between fans of those two teams is huge and there are almost always security problems when these two teams play each other. It goes even further than that, many people from Maribor think that Ljubljana is priviliged because it's a capital (they may even have a point) and thus dislike anything that originates in Ljubljana. The problem got into the NT with Katanec - Zahovic dispute, because Zahovic (who is from Maribor) accused Katanec (who is from Ljubljana) of prefering players from Ljubljana region. Till that time, LJ vs MB never entered the NT and that was really low from Zahovic, because he knew many people from Maribor will believe him.

They are both quite old (and not really good) and should not be taken into any serious consideration for NT coach, IMHO.

I wouldnt mind this as long as he performs well, but if he doesnt, there is no point in leaving him on the team.
