How long will Prašnikar last?

Zavrl Our FA president was a guest on TV on Koncnica, and the theme was of course the play offs. Anyway among all the other stuff a lot was said about selektor. And between the lines one could suspect that NZS are in search for a new selektor. Prašnikar has a contract till the end of the year so something must be on this. Zavrl was also asked if he'd affer Katanec the job but he said that it's still too early for that, plus Lucky probably wouldn't take it yet.

This sounds very interesting. What do you all think? Who would be the best candidate for a possible new selektor?

I also thought about Katanec, but football is so unpredictable... :depress:
I mean, not many coaches did the same thing again after they left and came back... And also, let's not forget that we had quite big amount of luck in the previous qualifiers and I fear that if we bring Katanec back, all people will think that we have a guaranted spot in WC2006, that because Katanec did it before, he would do it again... I have no idea, about whom to appoint. I would stick with Prasnikar, he was close to achieve the Euro2004 spot.

I know what you mean. If Katanec came back everybody would be sure we'd qualify for every tournament. It can't be that way of course. I'd be the first one to sign Srecko. I know good results wouldnn't come over the night, but knowing him he'd make us a more compact team again. It's still too soo for Srecko to come back though, there are still players in the team from his team and noone would like to face eachother again. I do see him as a selektor again once in the future, once every link to his former team quits. Untill than we will see.
There has allready been a lot said about that before EC 2004 qualis. I don't see any other apropriate candidate for the selektors place in Slovenija, maybe Pušnik, but he's too unexperienced. To look abroad, if we were to employ a foregin selektor it would have to be a top expert. From former Jugo there is Ivica Osim, he'd be great but he denied this himself before, saying he'd never coach any NT from the former common state. If anyone I'd support him, he's someone with great experience, authority and results on his side. The one I'd never want to see coaching our NT is Blaževic. If he'll ever take over our team, that will be the day I'll quit my fanatic support for the beloved team!
So who?

As we are talking about Katanec and whether or not he would coach us again, this came to mind. On ZZ's official website he answered recently questions from his fans. One person asked this:

Do you intend to meet former national team coach Katanec again? (Miha Žižek)

And his answer was:

Time will tell.

If you want to read the rest of the questions here is a link:

I thought it was an interesting read.

No no no, not OAnimal for the coach! He'll marry some Brazilian chick and then bring her whole family here and give citizenship to the young lads and soon we'll have a Brazil Nt 2 in exchange for Slovenia ... what a nightmare

Seriously, I think Prašnikar will stay. There's noone else really. Katanec will not come back and then who's left? Oblak? Well, excuse me, but he's too grumpy to be a NT coach

Hey in that case OAnimal has my vote! Just go ahead man, bring them over! You'll have to work on their names though, so that the people won't get suspicious about it.

Hell how come I didn't think of Oblak. He'd be OK I think.

Oblak?
Katanec?

Both would be a better idea than Bojan.
Even better would be to give some space even to some back up ansambel (Milanič, Zavrl etc.). But making such propositions is like hoping, that Zidane will grow his hair back.

Yes I think we all pretty much agree on one thing, Zavrl must go, along with his team at NZS!

Yes, why must NZS leave? Maybe we should put Zahovic as coach once he retires . . . but thats only if OAnimal doesnt get moving quickly
