10. September - Slovenija : France

Just 3 days away now so I thought I would create a thread. I am still feeling great after our win against Israel and now can't wait to play the French. All we need is one point from this game and we will make the play-offs. There are still a few possible outcomes of the group so I will paste from uefa.com:

France, the holders, need just a point against Slovenia in Ljubljana on Wednesday to win the group, but even if that proves beyond them, Jacques Santini’s men will be confident of getting what they need from their final game at home to Israel. Slovenia, meanwhile, can theoretically still either win the group or be eliminated but their most likely fate is second place. They need just a point against either France or Cyprus to make sure. To win the group they would have to win both games and hope France lose at home to Israel. For Slovenia to be eliminated, they would have to lose twice and Israel would have to beat both Malta and France.

So, we are just about there now, I just hope we play as good against France as we did aainst Israel.

As I said once before if we win against Israel I'm not worriad about the France game. We can now play this one relaxed with no pressure upon us. I also think that wit a similar performance that the one agains Israel we can do some damage to the French too. It would be great if we could beat them but even a point would be a great succes, ont the other hand loosing wouldn't be so tragic. Of course I'm only thinking in the positive and optimistic way, with full comitment and hearty performance even the French can crumble on Bežigrad!

More to come...

I demand a revange for that humiliating 5:0 lost in Paris! That said, I don't want anyone coming too close to Trez!

Why not??? If he makes a clown that is even more entertainment for us Either way I believe that this match will be very good with high quality goals. Lets hope that they are going our way though.

A secret pact, I we go there we should be very carefull about it, we don't want Uefa on our back like the Greeks have it right now.

Seriously it should be a very interesting match, and certainly I hope for the best from our boys. It will be more or less prestigeous match as both sides are basicly "in" already. OK teoreticaly everything is still possible, but we must admit that the French are strong favourites. We are not without chances though especially if we get to the business like we know we can. No fear and that! The thing is we must make for that humiliation we suffered in Paris. We simply must go out there and work hard for the whole match, dig, sweat, leave our heart there, and with such approach I'm positive even the result can come. The forecast for wednesday says it will rain, so that can be of some help to us as the French are technicaly much better, and we know bad weather isn't in favour of tecnicians. Also the pitch is in terrible shape. And furthermore, maybe the French superstars will be so impressed by the grand look of ther stadium, that by the time they come to themselves our boys get a couple of goals past them! So maybe our greates national embaressment, can become our greatest weapon!

there is many ways to perturbe the french squad.
for example they don't like to be shaked, i mean, if you play a hard game with pressure and if you can throw ball over the midfielders with fast strikers, we might be beatable.
but be care to the second half, if your players aren't athleticaly ready, it would be very hard to stop guys like henry, wiltord or cissé.
another point, if the field is not good enough, it could be a good point for you, cause the french players use to play on perfect fields.

Well, I would like our team to beat France, but that would be very hard. I would be satisfied with a draw, which would be good for both teams, so it's probably the most likely result. Even losing against France (save that we play a good game), will not disappoint me...

A draw would settle the race for both first and second, so I wouldn't mind that. However, I want us to win so that there is at least some sort of drama on the last day of Qualifiers.

I didn't say we couldn't beat you, I only said it would be very hard.

We had a disastrous WC also, but at least we scored a goal

Well, you really had a lot of bad luck on that WC, however in these qualifiers you soon showed everyone, who is 'da boss' in this group.

But since I was in Paris for the France - Slovenija game and was a witness of our disastrous performance, I want that our boys make it up for that on Wednesday.
