Can someone please tell me what this is all about as I can't read Slovenian yet. Although I am going through the process of learning.

How the hell can't you read Slovenian??:depress: You are Slovene, aren't you?

OK, let me put it short: Čeh is leaving GAK, to find new challanges. He played there since 1992, and his wish is to come back one day as a coach. He plaedy 314 matches for GAk, and won the Austrian cup in 2000 and 2002.

I must say I didn't hear much about it yet, some rumours have it that Ali might continue his career in Maribor.

I've also heard this rumor and... well a hope not... even though he is 35 years old he would be the best player in the league... I'm sure he still has more stamina than any other player in our league...

I know that many people think that we shouldn't get any more aging players to olimpija but he would definately be worth every tolar...

So to sum up... it would be a damn shame to let him go to maribor... he's worth more than 5 Pavlins together...

Ali would be a huge gain for any club and I don't really prefer where he should go. If he comes, he will be a probably the greatest personality in the league, beating everyone else, including Prosinečki and Pavlin.
So Ali, come!

Thanks Walter, I got my Mum to translate it for me. If he is still a very good player (Worth 5 Pavlins) then why doesn't he rejoin our National Team. In my opinion he was fantastic for us.

If he does join the Liga Si.mobil I hope he joins Maribor. He would do excellent.

As for not being able to read Slovene, I'm working on it. I should have that sorted out shortly.

Well in the fiasco that went on in Korea during WC he was more on Katanec's side so when Srečko left Aleš left as well. Although he would still do a good job (wondering how good really, since some of the Austrians mentioned that his game lost something after the WC ) it was time to give opportunities to younger players

GAK - NK Maribor 3:1 (3:0)

Very nice and sentimental afternoon. Ales Ceh started in the red jersey for the last time, was replaced after 10 minutes with standing ovations on the stands and applause from our players on the pitch and played for NK Maribor in the second half. About 2.000 fans said goodbye to a very special player. And yes, I know some strong guys who couldn't hide their tears today.

Ales really is a great player who made every team he played in better... But unfortunately... He's not the type of player that get's a lot of glory, although he would deserve it...

Ali is a legend! I hope he will now help Maribor to CL! And I must say that I still miss him in our NT, just can't get used to not seeing him on the team.:depress:

I was sad as well when I heard that he's quiting the NT, but then again, soo many changes happened that it was kind of logical that he retired.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play again

You're right, if you mean the glory from the media and all the so-called experts. But I think every single fan wanting to hug him yesterday is exactly the "glory" he wants and deserves. And our players chanting "Ales, Ales, Ales!" when their opponents arrived was also very nice to see...

Don't worry NZS, I also have Ales Ceh's NT jersey and even if he is retired, this jersey will always be one of my favourites (right after OAnimal's - when I get one. ).
