Liga Si.mobil thread

This should be a thread about 1st Slovenian national football league, called Liga Si.mobil.

Currently NK Publikum is at the top of the table and has good chances of winning the league. NK Olimpija seems to be losing the momentum and NK Koper and NK Maribor are out of the race already.

Here is the table:

Team Points

1. CMC Publikum 43
2. Vega Olimpija 40
3. Maribor Piv.Laško 34
4. Koper Sport Line 33
5. Era Šmartno 33
6. Primorje 28
7. Dravograd 24
8. Ljubljana 23
9. Gorica 21
10. Rudar 19
11. Mura 18
12. Korotan (-7) 3

Thanks Red Devil. Seems CMC wasn't at all weakened by the departure of Suleymanovic then. What do you think of their chances in the CL?

Why was Korotan deducted 7 points? Or did I misunderstand that?

And Maribor only third? A lesser year/period for them, then?

Korotan went bankrupt. They were relegated to the lowest league after the 2/3 of the competition. They were deducted 7 points before that for not fulfiling their obligations in the league. There are two more clubs in the Liga Si.mobil that could follow the same scenario in the following weeks/months, which would mean "Liga 9" .

Maribor plays terribly this season. Their position on the table does not tell even half of the story.

Publikum is holding very well. So far there are no consequences of recent departures. I would not speak about the CL just yet, though. There comes time for everything.

Hi!

Can someone tell me what's happening with NK Maribor this year please? Why are they playing so bad? I know that Jagodnik & Co. left the club but that's it. Since I don't live in Maribor, although I am from Maribor, I don't know much what is happening there. Thanx for the info!

Since the debacle in the qualification for CL Maribor just went downhill. All the money was put on that one game and we were expecting to atleast be qualified in UEFA cup by winnig the 2nd round. It would bring us some money so we could payoff our debts. But as you know we lost that game and so we had to start to sellout our players. The situation in club was terrible and our best players wanted to go away to some stronger club in Europe. In our league we played also terrible and situation just went down.
Nowdays we are back on track. We are playing better everygame, but still we have some dificulties scoring. Out of 10 100% chances we could score only once or twice per game. But still we are winning and that is all that matters now. I wouldn`t agree that we are out of the race for 1st place but still it would be a pleasant supprise if we won the championship after such a f***ing year.

Hard to say, but I really cannot see Publikum or Olimpija messing up things and leaving the trophy to Maribor. It will be more clear 3 rounds before the end when all 3 teams have to face each other :nervous: Till then ... Naprej Olimpija!

I really hope they (Maribor) sort things out and start to concentrate 100% on football.

No offence, but I would like Publikum to take the title this year, they have shown the best football so far.

BTW, Fantastic, welcome on board, looks like the old WSB "troops" are gathering here, after WSB is down for quite long.

Well, I mainly came here because there was no decent forum about Brazilian football on WSB. It is here, and it is one of the most lively ones...

They might just take it if Ljubljana will step down an their 4-1 win over Publikum and all the other results will be disallowed.

Besides, their closest followers, Olimpija, will be without Prosinečki for a while and we all know what that means

Interesting, Olimpija is currently playing 1-1 with Rudar (70 min). They are not very convincing, especially at their own stadium. I wonder if Publikum can deal with Olimpija through goal difference if necesary?

It ended 1:1. So even Maribor has a decent chance of winning the title now. But I still think Publikum deserves it most this year.
Go Cele.
